This year sees Manchester City try to defend their crown and claim a historic fourth title in succession. Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City, who also won the Champions League and FA Cup last season, will have to see off Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest to claim an unprecedented sixth league title in seven years.
Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Mavropanos does really well to take the ball from Odobert and bulldoze his way through into the Burnley box. He hits a left-footed attempt into the side netting but this is a lot better from West Ham. They’re trying to get on the front foot now.

Paqueta tries to take matters into his own hands and drives with the ball straight through the middle of the Burnley midfield. He eventually runs into too many men and has the ball nicked from his feet.

David Moyes won’t be happy with the start to the game from his players. Burnley are the much more comfortable team on the ball, playing neat passes around the corner of West Ham midfielders, and the Hammers are second to best to a lot of the play here.
