West Ham United vs AFC Bournemouth

A sluggish West Ham were held to a 1-1 draw at home against Bournemouth as David Moyes' side missed out on the chance to put pressure on Aston Villa in fifth place. The home side got off to the worst possible start as Dominic Solanke fired home after just three minutes when debutant Kalvin Phillips was caught in possession. Antoine Semenyo missed a golden opportunity to double the Cherries' lead but saw his effort saved by Alphonse Areola. It was a game of few chances in the second half but the Hammers took their one clear chance when a VAR check afforded James Ward-Prowse the chance to slam home from the penalty spot after Lloyd Kelly brought down Mohammed Kudus in the area. The Hammers remain in sixth, while Bournemouth's winless run against West Ham extends to six games. Next up for Moyes' side is a tricky visit to face Manchester United, while Bournemouth host Nottingham Forest. That's all for today - thanks for tuning in!
