West Ham 2-2 Liverpool: Michail Antonio found a late equaliser for the hosts as Jurgen Klopp’s side dropped more points in the title race
Liverpool’s slim Premier League title hopes faded further on Saturday when Michail Antonio’s late header earned West Ham a deserved point with a 2-2 draw at the London Stadium.
Liverpool, reeling from a 2-0 defeat at Everton in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday, again conceded first when Jarrod Bowen nodded home shortly before halftime, his 20th goal of the season in his 200th game for the Hammers.
The Reds levelled three minutes after the restart through Andy Robertson before the ugliest of own goals, attributed to goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, put them ahead after 65 minutes. But Antonio ensured the hosts took something from the game when he met Bowen’s cross with a powerful header in the 77th minute.
Liverpool remain third on 75 points, one behind second-placed Manchester City, who have played two games fewer, and two behind first-placed Arsenal, who have a game in hand and a much-superior goal difference. West Ham stay eighth on 49 points.

60 mins: This is much better from Liverpool and Endo almost feeds it through to Robertson. The Reds are pushing numbers forward, though, and West Ham could get more chances on the break as we go on. Van Dijk catches Bowen as Liverpool stop the counter, but both seem to be ok.

54 mins: Block! Brilliant again from Diaz, who if flying down the wing time and time again. He pulls it back to Gakpo, who lines up his shot, but it’s a good block from Ogbonna.
West Ham then really should have had a free-kick as Gravenberch pulled back Kudus to stop the West Ham counter-attack

51 mins: Two chances in quick succession from Liverpool, first as Gakpo flicks wide and then as Mac Allister is an inch or two from following into Alexander-Arnold’s cross.
Much better from the visitors.

Liverpool are back in it! Just minutes after the restart Liverpool are level, as Luis Diaz tees up Andy Robertson to steer a volley into the corner! Areola got a touch and should have done better, but he may have been unsighted.

47 mins: Chance! Liverpool work it from right to left as Diaz controls Alexander-Arnold’s switch and pulls it back to Gravenberch. The midfielder strikes it first time but it rises wildly over the top.

Jurgen Klopp has already admitted that Arsenal and Manchester City won’t be worrying about Liverpool in the title race.
Defeat here would leave Liverpool three points behind Arsenal and two points behind Manchester City with three games to go.
But that would become six points and five points behind if Arsenal and City win this weekend, and City would still have a game in hand.

That’s it at the break. Bowen’s goal is the difference and Liverpool trail once again. It’s not been a classic but Liverpool were so flat in that first half and West Ham just needed a moment to punish them. Bowen grabbed it with his 16th Premier League goal of the season.
Liverpool were expecting a response but it’s yet to arrive. Klopp’s side must come from behind again.
