Follow live reaction as West Ham fell to a 2-1 home defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final. West Ham’s first European semi-final in 46 years got off to a nightmare start - as Ansgar Knauff arrived late at the back post to head Eintracht Frankfurt ahead after just 48 seconds.
The hosts kept their composure and scored a deserved equaliser through Michail Antonio, after Jarrod Bowen had hit the post, and the striker stretched to steer Kurt Zouma’s knock-down over the line from a set-piece.
But it would be Eintracht Frankfurt who struck the next blow, as Daichi Kamada’s goal saw the visitors retake the lead as he eventually finished off a slick move through the West Ham defence. West Ham were frustrated in the closing stages, with Kamada coming closest as his shot deflected off Craig Dawson and onto the post.
And in stoppage time Bowen rattled the underside of the crossbar with a spectacular overhead kick as Frankfurt held on for the first-leg victory. It leaves West Ham with work to do in Germany next week. Relive the action from West Ham vs Eintracht Frankfurt, below:

West Ham capitalise from a set-piece! Lanzini clips the ball into the box from around 35 yards out and Zouma climbs to head it back across goal for Michail Antonio to tap home.
If Antonio didn’t reach it then Declan Rice was also ready to convert the open goal. A great set-piece routine and the London Stadium is bouncing once more.

20 mins: The corner reaches Bowen on the edge of the box but Frankfurt pinch the ball off him and break with purpose.
Kostic clips a cross into the middle which Rice clears but Frankfurt sustain the attack. They pick out Lindstrom on the right-hand side, only for his cross to end up in the arms of Areola.

18 mins: No real pattern to this game yet. Just when you feel like one team is beginning to put together a nice spell of possession they sloppily lose the ball.
Bowen plays a raking cross towards Fornals at the back post and his pull back cannons off Knauff and away for a West Ham corner.

16 mins: CHANCE! Oh, what a glorious opportunity for West Ham!
The home side win the ball back on the halfway line and break quickly. Antonio lays it off to Soucek and he plays a superbly weighted pass through to Bowen who is one-on-one with keeper Trapp. He takes a touch to compose himself and beats the Frankfurt shot-stopper but his effort bounces back off the face of the post!
So close to a leveller.

14 mins: Bowen does well to regain possession for the hosts and receives a round of applause from the crowd. You feel like it’s taken the supporters a quarter of an hour to recover from that hammer blow (no pun intended).
Moments later, Antonio is caught offside and groans ring out around the arena.

12 mins: First real chance for West Ham to get men forward as Johnson sprints down the right and sends a cross into the box but Hinteregger is back there shielding the two centre-backs and does well to hack it clear.

Oh and as I type that Knauff momentarily looks to have broken the offside trap again but Areola is out quickly to gather a through ball from Hinteregger.
