Follow live coverage as Watford face Southampton in the FA Cup today.
The two Championship clubs would have been hoping for a return to the Premier League with a good campaign, but only one of them are managing it so far in 2023/24 - that’s Saints, who sit third in the table, pushing Ipswich hard for an automatic promotion spot. Five wins in the last six show their league form is excellent, but how much focus will they have on the cup today?
As for the Hornets, they are down in tenth, with ten wins, ten draws and eight defeats speaking of their inconsistency this term. The playoffs are only three points away, as it’s tight from fifth down to midtable, but they’ll only get there with improved ability for regular wins.
