England will head to Euro 2024 as one of the favourites as Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham look to lead the Three Lions to glory in Germany after their heartbreaking defeat to Italy three years ago.

Gareth Southgate’s side will be joined at the Euros by Scotland, who will play in just their second men’s major international tournament in 25 years under Steve Clarke.

The Tartan Army will hope to get out of the group this time, following their early exit from the Euro 2020 finals, while the home nation contingent could yet include Wales if Rob Page’s side qualify via the play-offs.

World Cup runners-up France will be among the favourites, as will Portugal, Spain, and Belgium, while hosts Germany cannot be ruled out despite showing some shaky form over the past couple of seasons.

England’s route to Euro 2024 final after draw

England have discovered their Euro 2024 fate after the draw was conducted in Hamburg and they can now start plotting a route to the final and that elusive first major men’s trophy since 1966.

England were drawn into Group C and will expect to navigate a set of fixtures that looks kind on paper - with Denmark, Slovenia and Serbia lying in wait.

From there, things should get harder but if England can top Group C then a third-placed qualifier from either Group D, E or F will be their opponent in the last 16, before a quarter-final potentially against Germany, Spain or Italy. Win that and they would be just two victories away from glory.

Here is a closer look at England’s possible route to the final in Germany:

Wales manager Rob Page reacts to Wales’s potential draw

Wales have two play-off games to navigate in order to reach Euro 2024 but, if they do, then an incredibly tough group containing France, Netherlands and Austria awaits.

Here’s manager Rob Page’s reaction:

“It looks like one of the toughest group there. We’ve got a lot of work to do to get there but the rewards are there. We’re all in football because we want to play against the best teams, players and managers and they certainly fall into that category.

“The boys have shown against top opposition that we are more than capable of holding our own and if we get through, brilliant, that means we’ve had two great performances and then we can take that momentum into the Euros.

“We’ve played Holland, France and Austria before so we know what to expect. We want to play against world-class teams.

“Planning for play-offs in March is going well. We’ve had to forecast that we will qualify and already get some base camps in line. No doubt in January we will be doing some site visits.”

Steve Clarke reacts to Scotland’s draw

Scotland will play the first match of Euro 2024 as they face hosts Germany in the tournament opener. They will also face Hungary and Switzerland in Group A.

So how does manager Steve Clarke reflect on their draw:

“First of all, it’s nice to have clarity. You know who you’re going to face, you know the opposition and now we can start preparing.”

On their first match against Germany: “It’s good, you know what you’re up against. Nice to open the tournament, nice to be involved in that first game and hopefully we can set the tournament off with a good match. We’ve got to make sure it’s not about the occasion and it’s about the match. We look forward to it, it’s an exciting draw. I don’t think it mattered who we were going to get, it was always going to be exciting for us. Nice to be involved in the draw process and looking forward to next summer now.”

On facing Hungary and Switzerland: “Two good teams, we’ll be competitive in the matches and I’m sure they’ll be competitive too. It’s a good group, an evenly balanced group and I look forward to it.”

“We’ve got a really good idea now on where we will be based and how we will prepare for the tournament. The homework can start now, I can start watching videos of matches and then some friendly matches in March which we will get organised as soon as we can and then look forward to next year.

On how Germany will host the Euros: “I’m sure they’ll handle the Tartan Army and they better be ready for a lot of Scotsmen coming! It’s great to be involved and hopefully everyone can have a great time next summer.”

England Euro 2024 Group C fixtures: Dates, kick-off times and full schedule for Germany

After narrowly falling short at Wembley on a heartbreaking night against Italy, England go in search of glory at Euro 2024 in Germany.

Gareth Southgate’s side have been drawn with Denmark, Slovenia and Serbia in Group C following Saturday night’s ceremony and the Three Lions can now plot their route to the final.

England were beaten on penalties in the Euro 2020 final but will be one of the favourites ahead of next summer’s tournament.

Led by captain Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham, who has arguably been the best player in the world this season, England’s hopes of winning a first men’s international tournament since 1966 have rarely been higher.

Now the draw has been made, here’s a look at England’s fixtures at Euro 2024.

Scotland’s route to Euro 2024 final after draw

Scotland face a tough start to Euro 2024 when they face hosts Germany in Munich on 14 June.

But Steve Clarke’s side cruised through qualification to secure one of 21 spots in the main draw, with the final three teams added through qualifying.

And now Scotland will target qualification from Group A against Germany, Switzerland and Hungary.

Scotland will not fear any opponent after securing victories against Spain, Norway and Georgia en-route to the finals. In their qualifying group Scotland won five out of six matches, finishing with 15 points, but almost had a chance of finishing top of the group.

Gareth Southgate reacts to England’s Euro 2024 group draw

“We can work it all out now, we can nail down where we stay. It gives you more clarity,” Southgate adds.

“We’re hugely excited to be part of the tournament. We know the expectations at home.

“We get used to these big games. We hope we can give our supporters some more brilliant nights as we have done in the last few tournaments.”

Gareth Southgate reacts to England’s Euro 2024 group draw

“You always feel the same way,” Southgate says. “You can look at it on paper, but it’s not played on paper. There are teams you want to avoid, but those teams we’ll play are more than capable.

“They are brilliant occasions [against Scotland or Wales], but I was relaxed. The next objective is to get out of the group and then go from there.”

Alan Shearer expects comfortable group stage progress for England at Euro 2024

Alan Shearer told BBC Sport: “I don't think England can complain with that group, I think it's pretty favourable when you look at some of the teams that have been drawn out against each other so I think Gareth [Southgate] will be extremely happy.”
