Summer transfer window 2018: The 10 most expensive Premier League signings

The Premier League transfer window may be shut but there’s still plenty to follow as European clubs look to finalise their plans this summer, while the deadline day fallout continues to be revealed with the details on every move that did and didn’t happen leaking out.

Everton and Fulham got their cheque books out to dominate the headlines, with the Toffees landing Fc Barcelona duo Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes, as well as Shakhtar Donetsk forward Bernard. They could yet sign Kurt Zouma from Chelsea on loan, with confirmation yet to come on the late, late talks. Fulham meanwhile broke their transfer record with the signing of Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa for around £30m, while Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Luciano Vietto, Sergio Rico and Joe Bryan also moved to Craven Cottage.

Then there’s Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, who failed to sign anyone on deadline day – the latter becoming the first club not to sign a player in the summer at all since the transfer window was introduced – and we’ll bring you the latest fallout from the disappointing windows.

With the European transfer window still open, we will have all the latest news, late done deals plus all the latest reaction right here so don't touch that dial.

This morning's news starts with the reports that Christian Eriksen has emerged as Paris Saint-Germain's new top transfer target.

The 26-year-old Dane has developed into one of the best all-round midfielders currently playing the game, and is a crucial part of Tottenham's attack in his link-up with striker Harry Kane. But the Express claims today that Eriksen could be the subject of a £100m offer from French league champions PSG, who are looking to revamp their midfield after building one of the most potent attack forces in Europe.

Matteo Darmian is still set to leave Manchester United this summer, with a return to Italy almost certainly on the cards.

The right-back has fallen out-of-favour with Jose Mourinho after he signed Diogo Dalot to compete with Antonio Valencia in defence, and United will not block a potential exit before the 31 August transfer deadline.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Serie A sides Juventus, Napoli and Inter Milan are all keen on the Italy international.

England international Ruben Loftus-Cheek is attracting interest from German side Schalke, but Chelsea are currently unwilling to let the 22-year-old leave the club this month.

The Telegraph reports that the Bundesliga side are looking at the out-of-favour midfielder as a potential recruitment before the end of the summer transfer window, with his future uncertain as he looks to convince new Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri that he deserves more first-team football.

But with summer signing Jorginho making a strong start to his Chelsea career at the weekend and N'Golo Kante, Cesc Fabregas and Ross Barkley appearing to be ahead of him in the pecking order at the moment, chances look slim for the academy product to impress.

Barcelona remain interested in World Cup-winner Paul Pogba, and have not ruled out a move for the Manchester United midfielder before the end of the transfer window.

Barca president Josep Bartomeu was quizzed about possible new arrivals yesterday, with Pogba being directly put to him given their recent interest in the Frenchman.

And while he would not address individual names, he did admit that "there's still time to do business".

Real Madrid's move for former Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois last week appears to have had an after-effect on Manchester United, as the club are now ready to press on with contract talks to tie down goalkeeper David de Gea.

The Spaniard is into the final year of his contract - albeit United have a one-year extension that they would almost certainly trigger - and with Madrid's interest now non-existent following the signing of Belgian No 1 Courtois, United are poised to secure De Gea's long-term future.

Our northern football correspondent Mark Critchley reports:

Raheem Sterling left Arsenal in a spin on Sunday as he guided Manchester City to victory against the Gunners, scoring the opening goal and claiming the man-of-the-match award.

But his future remains uncertain with the England international yet to accept a new contract offer from City, leading to suggestions that he could leave the club in the not-so-distant future.

But Pep Guardiola spoke following the win at the Emirates to stress just how "loved" Sterling is at City in the hope of him committing his long-term future to the club.

Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is closing on a move away from the club after AC Milan expressed a desire to take him on loan for the season with a view to making the deal permanent.

The Sun claims that the out-of-favour Chelsea star, who was only signed to replace Nemanja Matic last season, is a transfer target for the Italian club, with the Blues willing to let him leave as he does not figure in Maurizio Sarri's plans.

Having seen Alisson come into Anfield and take his place as No 1 goalkeeper, Loris Karius could be offered a way out of Liverpool.

The Sun claims that the 25-year-old is a target for Turkish club Besiktas, who are considering an offer to take the German on a season-long loan deal.

Karius has not fully recovered mentally from his errors in the Champions League last season, leading to Jurgen Klopp's decision to sign Brazilian No 1 Alisson, and a year away from the media limelight of the Premier League could help him recapture his best form.

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot has alerted a number of clubs across the Premier League to his availability after rejecting the club's latest contract offer in the hope of forcing through a move away.

The young French star missed out on a place in the World Cup squad after struggling to tie down a permanent place in the PSG first team, and with his current deal due to expire at the end of the season, he could be available on a free transfer in January after rejecting their lates offer, according to L'Equipe.

One club who has expressed an interest in Rabiot in the past is Arsenal, and with manager Unai Emery working with Rabiot last season at PSG, the Spanish manager could well launch a move to bring the defensive midfielder to the Emirates.

However, Liverpool have now emerged as an interested party, and are looking press on with an offer in January tat would see Rabiot move to Anfield on a free transfer next summer.
