Everton and Fulham got their cheque books out to dominate the headlines, with the Toffees landing Fc Barcelona duo Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes, as well as Shakhtar Donetsk forward Bernard. They could yet sign Kurt Zouma from Chelsea on loan, with confirmation yet to come on the late, late talks. Fulham meanwhile broke their transfer record with the signing of Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa for around £30m, while Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Luciano Vietto, Sergio Rico and Joe Bryan also moved to Craven Cottage.
Then there’s Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, who failed to sign anyone on deadline day – the latter becoming the first club not to sign a player in the summer at all since the transfer window was introduced – and we’ll bring you the latest fallout from the disappointing windows.
With the European transfer window still open, we will have all the latest news, late done deals plus all the latest reaction right here so don't touch that dial.

Good morning and welcome to The Independent's transfer live blog, where we'll bring you all the latest news, rumours and done deals across the Premier League and beyond.
Paul Pogba's future at Manchester United remains of hot topic, and with the European transfer window still open, it's not out of the question that he could leave before the end of the month.
According to The Sun, the relationship between the £89m signing and manager Jose Mourinho is close to breaking point, with Pogba no longer willing to speak to the Portuguese about his future directly. Instead, Pogba will only speak to him via his agent Mino Raiola.
To counter that, Mourinho is reported to have told Pogba that if he wants to leave United, all he has to do is ask.
It looks like this one could be turning messy.
Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina has verbally agreed to join Italian side Napoli ahead of their transfer window deadline.
Serie A clubs have until Friday evening to complete any last-minute business ahead of Saturday's season opener between Juventus and Chievo, and The Guardian reports that Ospina is ready to join Napoli on loan until the end of the season.
However, the Colombia No 1 was still at Arsenal's London Colney training base on Wednesday, meaning that any deal is not yet done as he has to fly to Naples to undergo a medical.
With Petr Cech still in favour under new manager Unai Emery and summer arrival Bernd Leno jumping ahead of Ospina in the pecking order, it appears he will look to ply his trade elsewhere this season.
Bayern Munich will rival Manchester United for Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld, with the Belgium international shortlisted to replace Jerome Boateng if he leaves before the end of the month.
United were determined to land Alderweireld in the summer, but their interest came to nothing as Spurs held on to the centre-back despite their willingness to sell him. But The Mirror claims that German league champions Bayern - who can still sign players unlike United - will move for Alderweireld is Paris Saint-Germain come calling for Boateng.
It's added that Boateng had already agreed personal terms with PSG, with the two clubs only needing to agree on a transfer deal.
Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic may not currently be in Jürgen Klopp's first-team plans, but it's been revealed that Liverpool have rejected an offer from Torino for the Serbian.
The Liverpool Echo claims that Torino wanted to sign Grujic on a season-long loan, with the option to make the move permanent for £9m next summer.
It's added that Liverpool are still open to him leaving this month on loan, but would prefer not to include any future selling fee and also want Grujic to commit to a new contract before he departs Anfield.
Tottenham are prepared to let out-of-favour winger Georges-Kevin N'Koudou leave the club once again after Mainz offered to take the 23-year-old on loan.
According to Sky Sports, the French wideman still does not feature in Mauricio Pochettino's plans, and as a result he is expected to leave the club in the coming days.
England international Harry Maguire is close to signing a new contract with Leicester City, just a season after joining the club, in an effort to fend off interest from Manchester United.
The centre-back was high on United's priority list during the summer but the club were scared off by Leicester's £75m valuation of Maguire, who joined the club from Hull last summer for less than a quarter of that price.
The Telegraph reports that having remained with Leicester following United's dud deadline day, Maguire will now sign a new deal increasing his wages to £75,000-a-week.
Arsenal may have shown a different side to their transfer policy in recent years by splashing the cash, but it seems those days may already be over.
The Telegraph claims that due to a flurry of new signings and contract extensions, Arsenal manager Unai Emery will have to operate under a severely restricted wage budget in the January transfer window, meaning that new arrivals are almost certainly out of the question unless more players leave the club.
The arrivals of Bernd Leno, Sokratis, Matteo Guendouzi, Lucas Torreira and Stefan Lichtsteiner in the summer has wiped out the gap created by the departures of Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla and Lucas Perez, while new deals for Granit Xhaka and Ainsley Maitland-Niles - plus the whopping £275,000-a-week contract given to Mesut Özil - leaves Arsenal with little room to add to the squad.
There's also the issue of Aaron Ramsey's future to contend with, as the Welshman's current deal expires at the end of the season with no signs of renewal yet.
German side Schalke are keen on signing Tottenham defender Danny Rose - but only on a permanent deal.
Sky Sports claims that the Bundesliga club are interested in the England defender, who could be on his way out of White Hart Lane in a dispute that stems from his criticism of the club's wage structure last year.
It's understood that Spurs were open to selling Rose during the summer transfer window should the right offer come in after Bradley Davies excelled in his position last season.
It's also claimed in the same report from Sky Sports that Schalke are also keen on Ruben Loftus-Cheek should the chance arise that he can leave Chelsea on a permanent deal.
The young England midfielder has been starved of first-team football at Stamford Bridge and it is not yet known if he will feature in Maurizio Sarri's plans, with the Italian starting Ross Barkley ahead of him in their opening Premier League match last weekend.
Loftus-Cheek was said to be considering a loan move away if he is not given any football this month, but again Schalke will only look at a permanent move.
