From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The summer transfer window is wide open with a host of world football's biggest names apparently on the move.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Kylian Mbappe and Alvaro Morata are just a handful of big-name players tipped for a move this summer, with the likes of Jose Mourinho, Arsene Wenger and Antonio Conte all eager to bolster their squads ahead of the new season.
Rather impressively, a number of clubs have already set about their business early. Manchester City are the summer’s early pace setters, having already signed both Bernardo Silva and Ederson, while Mohamed Salah recently joined Liverpool in a £34.3m move from Roma.
The Reds' pursuit of Naby Keita is beginning to annoy Leipzig with lots of talk but little action. And then there's Charlie Taylor, Roque Mesa and a bunch of other guys signing deals at Premier League clubs.
We will have all the latest transfer news and reports throughout the day right here so don't touch that dial.

Salah-vating
Mohamed Salah remains Liverpool's biggest bit of business so far this summer, but what made Jürgen Klopp go in for the one-time Chelsea flop?
Sunderland have announced the signing of Everton defender Tyias Browning on a season-long loan.
The 23-year-old will link back up with Simon Grayson at the Stadium of Light, having spent the second half of last season under the new Black Cats manager while on loan at Preston.
Browning, who has made nine appearances for Everton since his debut against Liverpool in September 2014, is the second player to join Sunderland on loan from the Toffees this week, with fellow defender Brendan Galloway having also moved to the north-east.
They join other ex-Everton players Bryan Oviedo, Darron Gibson and Jack Rodwell on the books of the Championship club.
