Neymar smashed the world transfer record by swapping Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain in the summer but many closer to home could follow him in big money transfers in January with speculation about the futures of Philippe Coutinho, Alexis Sanchez and more refusing to go away.
Manchester City were the summer's biggest spenders splashing over £200m on new arrivals but Pep Guardiola isn't likely to stop there with a title there for the taking.
Crosstown rivals United were busy too and will want more despite adding Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof in the summer with Jose Mourinho keen on an attacking wide player and a new full back.
Liverpool struggled to get deals over the line and could still lose Coutinho while Chelsea are still in need of bodies as Antonio Conte continues to battle with a hectic fixture list.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez believes Neymar should consider a move to join them if he wants to win the Ballon d'Or.
"Being in Madrid would make it easier to win the Ballon d'Or," Perez said.
"Madrid is a club that gives a big player everything they need to do so.
"Everyone knows I wanted to sign him."
West Ham boss David Moyes looks set to drop Joe Hart, putting the England goalkeeper's World Cup ambitions in serious jeopardy.
Hart's form for West Ham has been unconvincing this season so his understudy Adrian is in contention to start against Chelsea on Saturday.
The Spaniard impressed against Manchester City last weekend after stepping in when Hart was ineligible to face his parent club.
Hammers manager Moyes said: "I'll keep my team until tomorrow. But I have made a decision in my own mind."
Peru captain Paolo Guerrero will miss the World Cup after Fifa banned him for a year over a positive test for cocaine.
The suspension imposed by Fifa's disciplinary committee covers "all types of matches" and was backdated to start on November 3, the world governing body announced on Friday.
Guerrero tested positive for "cocaine metabolite benzoylecgonine," a banned stimulant, after a World Cup qualifying game in Argentina in October.
Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Phil Jones will be available to play in Sunday's Manchester derby.
Nigel Adkins wants to eventually lead Hull back into the Premier League as he prepares for his opening match in charge at the KCOM Stadium.
Speaking at his first press conference in his new role, the 52-year-old said: "I think everybody's just got to pull together.
"The position we are in in the division is a relegation battle. There's things that aren't right which we need to address but it's like everything: you can't just wave a wand and it happens overnight.
"We want to reach the heights of being back in the Premier League. We've given ourselves an uphill task in doing it this season but it doesn't mean it's still not achievable.
"But you look at the stature of the football clubs in this division, there's a lot of big football clubs who all want to get there.
"We've got to make sure that we provide that stability that gives ourselves a chance to keep progressing and moving forward."
Sam Allardyce cannot understand why Jurgen Klopp would be worried about him with the attacking resources at Liverpool's disposal.
"He shouldn't be too worried about me the way his team is playing at the moment," said Allardyce. "If I was sat in his position with the players that he's got, it's a wonderful situation.
"I haven't had the time to go the lengths and depths I've gone to with the other teams I've had. And of course I've got a completely different set of players here.
"It will all be about those players taking on board the information that we give them without taking away their responsibility to make the right decisions at the right times."
Manchester United now see Juventus' Alex Sandro as their primary left-back target for January, as there is a growing belief it could be difficult to prise Danny Rose out of Tottenham Hotspur.
Jose Mourinho is determined to solve a position that has been a problem for a long time at Old Trafford, even allowing for Ashley Young's impressive displays there is a stand-in, and sees it as his main task for the mid-season window.
It had for a long time looked like Rose could be that option, given the has fallen out of favour at Spurs due to injury and the connected issues of a controversial interview about the club's transfer policy at the start of the season.
If United do not move for Danny Rose, it is possible that City might, although they are similarly uncertain about the value of spending another £50m on a full-back given they still have the injured Benjamin Mendy to come back.
If there is enough left over from what is a more restricted January budget, Mourinho may also try to sign Borussia Dortmund's Julian Weigl, but the main target is a left-back.
