Arsenal have completed the club-record signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after getting the green light from Borussia Dortmund to announce the deal, with the striker joining for £56m, and have followed it up by agreeing a new three-and-a-half year contract extension for Mesut Özil that will see him paid £350,000-a-week.
The Gunners have put the 3-1 defeat by Swansea behind them on Wednesday by announcing a new club-record deal, with Olivier Giroud now expected to leave the club. Giroud looks certain to leave Arsenal for Chelsea after Blues agreed an £18m deal with the Gunners to keep him remain in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Dortmund are set to sign Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi on loan until the end of the season, with the Belgian striker in Dortmund undergoing a medical.
Manchester City will continue their late pursuit of Riyad Mahrez, although Leicester City are believed to have rejected a third offer on Tuesday worth £55m, and have informed the Premier League leaders that it will take a lot more to tempt them into selling as they do not have enough time to find a replacement.
Tottenham will also complete their first bit of business this month after agreeing a deal worth around £28m wit Paris saint-Germain to sign Lucas Moura, with a medical already completed this morning.

Away from Arsenal and Aubameyang and the whole striker merry-go-round in London, Everton are growing in confidence at their chances of signing Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Mangala had initially been sounded out by Newcastle, but that appears to have alerted other Premier League sides to the availability of the Frenchman and the Magpies are set to miss out as a result.

Burton Albion have signed Manchester City midfielder Jacob Davenport on loan for the rest of the season.
The 21-year-old is highly-rated by Pep Guardiola, according to Burton's Nigel Clough: "All we have heard about him is that if he doesn’t make it, it won’t be from the lack of trying to do everything right.
"He gives himself the best possible opportunity to be a professional footballer."

The 19-year-old, who has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal at Leeds, has made the move from the Hawthorns to Elland Road for an undisclosed fee and could make his debut in Saturday's Championship contest with Cardiff.
Roberts made just one appearance for the Baggies in the Premier League, coming on as a substitute in a 1-1 draw with Liverpool in May 2016.
Since then he has enjoyed loan spells at Oxford United, Shrewsbury Town and Walsall, where he scored five goals in 19 appearances for the Saddlers in the first half of this season.

- Southampton want to see if there is a deal possible for Tottenham Hotspur's Erik Lamela, as they seek to bolster their attack for a tense relegation battle. They could also face competition from Roma. The 25-year-old is just back from a long-term thigh injury that kept him out of action for over a year, but only has 18 months on his contract, and has not yet signed a new deal. If Spurs were to agree to let him go, it would likely only be a loan deal. Lamela could nevertheless face competition for a place in the club’s Champions League squad, something set to be complicated by the signing of Lucas Moura from Paris Saint-Germain.
