They remain interested in Manchester United forward Anthony Martial, and could yet look to raid their biggest rivals if he suddenly becomes available today. Despite making plenty of signings this summer already, Klopp has not yet replaced Philippe Coutinho and Martial may just be that man.
Christian Pulisic is also an option, with the Borussia Dortmund midfielder wanted at Anfield.
The Reds have already signed goalkeeper Alisson, Fabinho, Xherdan Shaqiri and Naby Keita – who finally sealed his move from RB Leipzig a year after agreeing it – but the Anfield door remains open for business. Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir also remains on the radar, but Chelsea are also in the hunt and it’s far from given that he’ll leave the French side this summer.
Player departures remain a possibility too, with Divock Origi, Danny Ings and Sheyi Ojo looking for moves away.

Good morning and welcome to The Independent's transfer live blog, where we'll bring you all the latest news and updates from Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp considers any late deadline day deals as well as potential Anfield exits.
Liverpool are still holding an interest in Christian Pulisic, reports suggest.
The Reds have been actively tracking the youngster’s progress in Germany and even made an £11m offer back in 2016, which was rejected by Dortmund.
Pulisic’s value has increased dramatically since, with the USA international now said to be valued at £50m by the German club.
This is certainly one player to keep an eye on as the day unfolds. Though, having said that, there's an underlying sense at Anfield that Pulisic may not yet be the finished article. It could be a case, then, that Liverpool make their move next summer.
Lyon earlier this week refused to rule out Nabil Fekir leaving the club before the transfer deadline.
Liverpool were close to signing the French international earlier this summer before an 11th hour U-turn with Chelsea one of a number of clubs now said to be monitoring his situation as the clock ticks down.
Fekir was not present as Lyon fell to Chelsea in the Blues' final pre-season friendly on Tuesday night.
And speaking afterwards manager Bruno Genesio admitted his captain could yet leave the club.
“It’s too early to say [what will happen]," he said after the match. “He wanted to leave at the end of last season but came back to training yesterday and was happy.
“Who knows? There may be opportunities that come up before the end of the window. For now, he is a Lyon player.”
Regarding Fekir, it really is up in the air. Chelsea have cropped up out of nowhere to join the race for the Frenchman's signature but Liverpool very much remain in contention. This could be one of those deals that goes down to the wire, with a lot of late activity seen later in the day.
Danny Ings looks set to leave Liverpool today, with the club confident they can secure a £20m transfer fee for the player.
Crystal Palace and Southampton have both been linked to the forward, whose career at Anfield has been hampered by repeated knee injuries. As a result, the player has made just 25 appearances across three seasons for the club.
Having strengthened his squad throughout the summer, Jurgen Klopp is now looking to move on the club’s peripheral players, such as Ings.
Pedro Chirivella, Lazar Markovic and Simon Mignolet are all also available for transfer, but with moves to European clubs more likely, they have until 31 August to seal their departures.
Reports from Spain - god knows why - are saying that Crystal Palace have tabled a bid worth £16.2m to sign Divock Origi.
This comes amid interest from La Liga giants Valencia, who are also said to be considering a move for the forward.
The 23-year-old is surplus to requirements under Jurgen Klopp following a mediocre loan spell with German side Wolfsburg last season, in which he only scored seven goals as the club came within a whisker of relegation.
Having returned to Anfield, the Belgium international remains behind the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Dom Solanke, Danny Ings and Roberto Firmino in the striker pecking order.
As such, there's a high chance Origi could be one his way out of Anfield later today.
A great read from our Liverpool man Simon Hughes on the club's recent progress, both on and off the pitch. An exciting season beckons for the Reds, methinks:
The Daily Mirror is reporting that Steven Gerrard is considering a move for Dominic Solanke.
The Rangers boss has already taken Ovie Ejaria and Ryan Kent with him to the Ibrox and is now eyeing Solanke as a target.
The 20-year-old has fallen further down Jurgen Klopp’s pecking order with the re-emergence of Daniel Sturridge, and Gerrard is apparently "confident" of landing the youngster on loan.
Given today's 5pm deadline only applies to English football, Gerrard has until the end of the month to secure a deal for the striker.
