Tottenham 4-1 West Ham: Son Heung-min scored on his return from injury as Spurs net four against the Hammers
Tottenham responded to their “worst defeat” under Ange Postecoglou with a brilliant second half display to secure a 4-1 victory over West Ham at home.
In their first match since surrendering a two-goal lead against Brighton, Tottenham went behind at home versus the Hammers with Mohammed Kudus arriving at the back post to turn home a Jarrod Bowen pull back.
Spurs had been dominating possession and stepped up the tempo after going behind. Dejan Kulusevski was a bright spark and pulled the hosts level with an inside run and strike from the right wing.
1-1 was the half-time score and the match seemed like a close contest. The second half was anything but. Son Heung-min slipped a fine ball into the box for Destiny Udogie to set up Yves Bissouma’s goal before an unfortunate own goal extended Tottenham’s lead.
Having been involved in the previous two goals Son then drifted into space on the left and finished off a fine solo run to put the game out of West Ham’s reach. Kudus was visibly frustrated and let that show late in the game by collecting a red card.

Jarrod Bowen and Aaron Wan-Bissaka combine on the right wing to get the ball up to the penalty area. A shot from the right-back is deflected but Bowen recovers the ball to keep the attack going.
He pulls the ball back across the box as Mohammed Kudus comes sweeping in from the left wing. Pedro Porro leaves his position following a run from Tomas Soucek which means Kudus is wide open and has the easiest of shots to turn into the back of the net.

17 mins: James Maddison trots over to take a corner for Spurs. It’s their fourth in less than 20 minutes of play. Maddison’s delivery comes into the six yard box but it’s easily scooped up by Areola.

A dummy to the left before checking to the right leaves Aaron Wan-Bissaka in bother. Space opens up for the shot and Son whips a right-footed effort towards the far corner and curls it just around the post!

12 mins: Spurs are trying to impose themselves on the match but it’s quite open. They’re attacking prowess leaves space in midfield for West Ham to counter.
Dejan Kulusevski receives the ball. He spins away from Guido Rodriguez and looks to drive up the pitch before being brought down.

West Ham get up the pitch and work the ball across the box to Mohammed Kudus. He’s wide open arriving by the back post and curls a first time shot at goal.
The effort is good but Vicario makes a quick shift to the right and pushes the ball over the crossbar!
