Tottenham vs Man City LIVE: Premier League result, final score and reaction tonight
The reigning Premier League champions face Antonio Conte’s inconsistent Spurs side
This young stadium enjoys a special moment, as Pep Guardiola endures yet another bad evening here. The Manchester City manager could only watch as his side failed to do what Harry Kane has now made historic virtue out of.
The Tottenham Hotspur legend has now become their leading goalscorer, going one better than the great Jimmy Greaves with his 267th goal for the club. It proved the only goal of an invigorating 1-0 win over the champions, as they still haven’t scored at the Spurs stadium since it was built in 2019.
That was this time without the recovering Antonio Conte present in the ground, as Guardiola’s problems only mounted. His side failed to take the chance to go within two points of Arsenal after the leaders’ loss at Everton on Saturday and that, most aggravatingly for the City manager, after his side barely mustered a chance at all.

Harry Kane breaks Jimmy Greaves’ Tottenham goals record with 267th strike
Harry Kane has broken Jimmy Greaves’ Tottenham Hotspur goals record with his 267th strike for the club.
Greaves was prolific for Spurs during the 1960s and remains the record goalscorer in the history of English top-flight football with 357 goals.
But with his strike against Manchester City, Kane surpassed the Spurs legend’s tally for the north London club and also brought up 200 Premier League goals in the process.

HT - Spurs 1-0 Man City
And there’s the whistle!
Spurs are halfway to victory...as they were when the teams met two weeks ago, of course. Then they were two up and lost 4-2; today it’s just 1-0 but they are on home soil.
45’ - Spurs 1-0 Man City
So close to an equaliser! City find an overload after Alvarez initially feeds the ball left, the cross is half-cleared to Mahrez on the far post and he beats Lloris - but hits the crossbar! Away the ball flies to safety.
Two minutes added on.
44’ - Spurs 1-0 Man City
Pinball in the box! Kulusevski, Kane and Dier all have attempts after a corner isn’t cleared, but Ake and his defensive teammates do enough to get in the way and prevent a direct route to goal.
Spurs continue to push sporadically for a second, and have arguably looked more likely to do so than City have to netting their first.
41’ - Spurs 1-0 Man City
Rodri and Alvarez link up down the right channel and it’s the Spanish midfielder who eventually rolls in a low shot, but it’s weak and easy for Lloris to get down to.
Haaland and Grealish left frustrated at the far post, unmarked.
37’ - Spurs 1-0 Man City
A big battle in the middle between Haaland and Romero, with the Argentine defender having already been booked. He goes to ground now and wins the free-kick - though it seems he instigated the episode too. Rodri now slaloms past a tackle or two but Royal blocks the cross.
32’ - Spurs 1-0 Man City
Injuries on both sides as Hojbjerg has a knee issue and Grealish seems to be holding his hip.
Both fine to continue after some attention.
Alvarez now feeds a pass through towards Haaland but it’s intercepted. City try to raise the tempo as they look for an equaliser before the break.
28’ - Spurs 1-0 Man City
Guardiola raging on the sideline and his team not really responding. They’ve been second-best to a lot of the loose balls in the middle and Spurs’ big switches are finding spaces in the channels.
Kane and Kulusevski link up well now but the Swede can’t get the shot away.
24’ - Spurs 1-0 Man City
Some irate bellows from the stands after that Bentancur booking - and more now after Romero gets one too.
No debate on that one, he has flown in from ten yards away and scythed down Haaland in the Man City half.
Pointless booking, but that’s the Romero style at times.
20’ - Spurs 1-0 Man City
Bentancur into the book for a foul, Grealish not into the book for a trip on Kane as he looked to break through.
