Liverpool were winners back in 2020 ending a 30-year wait for league glory and Jurgen Klopp is sure to have them back challenging again at the sharp end this season too while Manchester United will be looking to be back in the title picture with Cristiano Ronaldo returning to his former club in the summer.
It's not all about the action at the top though with Norwich, Watford and Brentford promoted to the top tier for 2020/21 and hoping to hold their own against the best English football has to offer and avoid the drop.

Fraser shoots straight into the hands of Forster, but that should be a big Newcastle chance. Forster passes the ball straight to Murphy, who skips away from Salisu and has three or four team-mates up in support. He finds none of them and Targett has to dive in to keep the attack going. Fraser curls tamely through to the goalkeeper.

Krafth throws the ball into the area and it almost drops a couple of times for Murphy before Saints clear. A towering Burn header sends the ball back downfield.

Willock works really hard in the middle of the pitch to keep the ball and get Newcastle on the attack, but the attack slows through Murphy and Krafth's cross is poor and blocked. Murphy's attempt then meets the same fate.

Adam Armstrong is immediately involved, first with a neat flick that does not quite come off and then with more fine footwork to create a left-footed shooting opportunity. His attempt is well wide, however.
