It's not all about the action at the top though with Norwich, Watford and Brentford promoted to the top tier for 2020/21 and hoping to hold their own against the best English football has to offer and avoid the drop.

Saints have had seven shots to Newcastle's three and 64.8 per cent of the possession. Despite deflecting in the Armstrong goal, Burn has played a key role in keeping the home side from scoring again, with seven clearances. Guimaraes has been sloppy at times but is the only Newcastle player to have both attempted and created a shot.

They had the better of the chances before and after Armstrong's goal, including a terrific Adams shot against the crossbar after Wood had made it 1-1. That equaliser came out of nothing, although Newcastle threatened again late in the half.
