Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight and it’s the Blades who host the Hatters this afternoon, both in the bottom three.
United are rock bottom, nine points taken from 18 games so far and only two wins - one fewer than the visitors, who sit 18th, three points above the Blades ahead of kick-off. Neither team can move out of the bottom three with victory on the day but they must start picking up points fast if they want a shot at survival.

Ryan Giles replaced Issa Kabore out wide for Luton against Newcastle, and with the Burkinabe wing-back absent from the squad altogether, starts in his place in the visitors' only change. He and fellow wideman Alfie Doughty were crucial to the Hatters seeing out the points last time out, with the pair set to provide Jacob Brown, Elijah Adebayo and goal-scorer Andros Townsend with plenty of ammunition in the final third.

The Blades came within seconds of a crucial victory at Villa Park, and Chris Wilder makes four changes to his XI looking to continue the momentum with some fresh legs. James McAtee and Gustavo Hamer both come into midfield, Oli McBurnie leads the line up front, and Anel Ahmedhodzic wears the captain’s armband from centre-back. Cameron Archer, whose goal looked to have wrapped up the points against his former club, starts from the left flank, looking to support McBurnie in attack alongside McAtee.

Sheffield United vs Luton Town
18th-placed Luton are still four points from safety and have won just once in four games, but that victory was a hugely deserved one over Newcastle last time out. The Hatters were impressive throughout that 1-0 win at Kenilworth Road, and having pushed both Arsenal and Manchester City all the way in recent weeks, Rob Edwards’ side will certainly fancy their chances against a side two places and three points below them in the table.
