Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight and it’s the Blades who host the Hatters this afternoon, both in the bottom three.
United are rock bottom, nine points taken from 18 games so far and only two wins - one fewer than the visitors, who sit 18th, three points above the Blades ahead of kick-off. Neither team can move out of the bottom three with victory on the day but they must start picking up points fast if they want a shot at survival.

Barkely has once again been running the show for Luton in midfield, having three attempts on goal and completing seven final-third passes in that first half. He's created one big chance from those passes, won eight of his 12 duels including three dribbles, and has turned possession over on four occasions so far. Engine.
Sheffield United vs Luton Town
It's advantage Luton at the halfway stage, scoring an early opener and doing their upmost to retain their lead for the second game running! The Hatters started brightly and took the lead in superb style after half-chances at each end. Doughty's mazy run from the right flank was sublime in itself, but his low finish that squeezed beneath Foderingham and into the net was even better. Luton could have extended their lead, with Adebayo and Barkley missing close-range headers and Doughty having another effort blocks, but the visitors had to withstand a late onslaught from Sheffield United at the other end. Kaminski saved brilliantly from Hamer's free-kick, with McAtee and Brooks (twice) firing wide from the edge of the box as the hosts pushed for an equaliser. Luton have withstood the challenge aso far though, and are on course to close the gap on Everton above them to just one point.
