Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

SAVE! A simple stop for Grbic. Assignon races down the right for the first time, getting to the byline before firing a cross into the middle of the box. Foster gets his head on it, but his effort towards the top-left corner loops into the goalkeeper's hands.

The Blades must make the most of their dominance. The home side are having a good spell and have created an xG of 1.24 compared to Burnley's 0.29, but have not found a way past Muric with their three shots on target.

Brereton is stretching the pitch on the left and forces Taylor to head his inswinging cross behind for a corner at the back post. The following cross drops to Trusty, who gets ahead of his marker to get a shot away. However, his first-time effort from close range is caught by Muric.

WIDE! Berge bursts through the middle of the pitch and has options on either side. He then rolls a throughball down the left side of the box to Bruun Larsen, who goes around Grbic before shooting wide from a tight angle. He is frustrated with Berge as he believes there was too much pace on the pass.

United have conceded 84 goals in their 32 Premier League games this season; it’s the most at this stage of a top-flight campaign since Ipswich in 1963-64 (85) and the most the Blades have conceded overall in a league campaign since 1954-55 (86 in 42 games). The Blades have displayed a real defensive spirit in the opening exchanges and have made it difficult for Burnley to create any clear chances.

Cullen's inswinging corner from the left is poked clear by Brereton, but only as far as Vitinho. The Brazilian then drills his low strike through several bodies, with Foster flicking it on target, but Grbic makes a simple stop.

HUGE STOP! Muric keeps the score level! Brereton dribbles down the left, playing a quick one-two with Hamer and poking the ball past Vitinho. He is one-on-one with Muric inside the box and looks for the bottom-right corner, but the goalkeeper rushes off his line to make a good save.

SAVE! The Blades have another chance to score! McAtee collects the ball on the right side of Burnley's box, switching it onto his left foot before curling a shot towards the goal. It deflects off Taylor and loops to Brereton, but his tame header is saved by Muric.

Berge lofts the ball down the left to Taylor, who is in space on the left and has options in the middle. However, he drives his low cross against McAtee, who is helping the Blades defend in a solid shape when Burnley have possession.
