West Ham’s first European knock-out tie in over 40 years ended in a narrow 1-0 defeat by serial Europa League winners Sevilla.
A second-half goal by Moroccan forward Munir, who was only in the starting line-up after Ivan Rakitic was injured in the warm-up, settled the first leg in the Spanish side’s favour.
But Hammers boss David Moyes will have seen enough to feel his side are capable of overturning a one-goal deficit at the London Stadium in a week’s time and prolonging their European adventure.

He brings the ball down the wing and cuts inside, shifting away from two tackles before opening up angle to the far top corner. His strikes it good but there’s a slight deflection off Eric Garcia and the effort goes wide of the post! That would have been a great goal.

33 mins: Galatasaray bring the ball up the inside left channel but lose it just as they reach the final third. Barca transition it quickly with a simple pass over to Traore. He drives down the right wing and fires a high cross into the area where Pena comes off his line to claim it.

30 mins: Adama Traore collects the ball on the right wing and darts inside. He’s forced onto his left foot as he nips across Patrick van Aanholt and can’t get off a shot. He tries to shift the ball back to his right and loses possession allowing Galatasaray to clear their lines.

27 mins: Save! It is Memphis Depay who takes. He lifts it beautifully over the wall and there’s just enough curl to swing the ball towards the top corner. Inaki Pena shuffles across to his right then leaps at the ball, palming it awya with a strong right hand.

24 mins: Free kick to Barcelona! Pedri receives the ball and spins towards goal looking to slip in Ferran Torres. He gets to the tip of the ‘D’ and is brought down.
