It’s a big game for?
David Moyes. After failing at Manchester United, Real Sociedad and Sunderland, Moyes has, rather amazingly, been handed a lifeline to get his career back on track and restore a shred of credibility to his reputation. If he’s to turn around West Ham’s fortunes, as well as his own, an impressive win today is essential.

Hello and welcome to our LIVE coverage of Watford vs West Ham from Vicarage Road as David Moyes takes charge of his first match as Hammers boss.
Moyes: No more excuses for Hammers
This is what new West Ham boss David Moyes has had to say in the build-up to his first match in charge of the club:
"I don't want to hear any excuses. There are no shortcuts now. It's been documented that we have not done well on a lot of physical stats so I don't want to hear excuses of 'why I didn't do this or why this didn't happen'.
"Just get on and do the job and be a little more humble for your team-mates. Make sure you are part of the team and not an individual.
"The players can't keep getting away with making excuses, they have to stand up, take responsibility and say 'this is what we need, this is what we want' and I am hoping my staff and I can give them that."

Pre-match quotes from Marco Silva
On whether the speculation linking him with the Everton job has affected his players: "Our focus is on the game. Inside our training ground, nobody talks about this speculation. It is the moment to keep focus in our work, the commitment is total and this is our moment to prove ourselves again on the pitch.
"The speculation is normal in football. It is important to get a good result. We played really well the last match but we didn't achieve a good result and it is important for us to bounce back. We also want to play well so our fans enjoy the match as well."

Pre-match quotes from David Moyes
On how prepared Winston Reid is after returning from international duty with New Zealand: "I'd have loved him to have a few days off but we're short of centre-halves at the moment. We need him back, we need his experience. I'm hoping his leadership can help us."
On how his players need to up their game: "I'm here to get wins but the players need to do a little bit as well. They can't keep hiding. We'll try and get a decent team playing good football but most importantly we need to get a team that doesn't lose."
On taking charge of his 500th match as a Premier League manager: "Nowadays it's much harder to do. I was fortunate at Everton with good people giving me time when things were a bit up and down. I don't think there'll be many that will get to 500 in the future."
Quotes from Sky Sports
