From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. It’s a big game for…
Abdoulaye Doucoure: The Watford man was not at his best at the Emirates, losing the ball far too often in dangerous areas and demonstrating an overall careless attitude while on the ball. He improved as the game reached its latter stages but the Hornets will need him to impose himself to greater effect if they are to put Bournemouth to the sword.
Best stat…
Zero: Bournemouth are yet to be victorious in a Premier League fixture at Watford. In fact, the Cherries’ only victory in their last 17 visits to Vicarage Road came in March 1997, when former Trinidad and Tobago defender Ian Cox grabbed the winner in a 1-0 win.
Remember when…
Troy Deeney may not have the hat-trick record of some of the Premier League legends, but the quality of the goals for his treble against Bournemouth in the Championship in 2013 was of the highest level.
The first of his professional career, it inspired Watford to a 6-1 hammering of the Cherries on the day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzV2UeggYBE
Player to watch…
Nathan Ake: The defender put in a resolute performance on Monday night and the statistics showed as much, with the former Chelsea man making the most clearances and passes throughout the 90 minutes. Watford will be hurting after their latest defeat, but they did create chances against Arsenal so Ake will need to give a similar performance.

OK, so this is not a deluxe edition of Premier League 3pm KOs, but these are the kind of days when something special pops up from nowhere. Leicester vs Everton feels like a battle to be the best of the rest, Watford vs Bournemouth is a meeting of two of the season's early overachievers (and entertainers), while you have to imagine Harry Kane has cleared a space in the attic for today's matchball at Wembley – or might Cardiff spring an almighty surprise? Here's what's ahead:
Burnley vs Huddersfield
Crystal Palace vs Wolves
Leicester vs Everton
Tottenham vs Cardiff
Watford vs Bournemouth

Coming up at 5.30pm Manchester United take on Newcastle at Old Trafford, could this be the last game in charge of the Red Devils for Jose Mourinho?
Great news for England's women as they have just beaten Brazil! Read all about it here:
