From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. What time does it start?
Stoke City vs Chelsea kicks off at 3.00pm
Where can I watch it?
The match will be available to listen to on BBC Radio 5 Live from 3.00pm.
It’s a big game for…
Peter Crouch. The 36-year-old striker has scored four goals this season and is only four away from his recent best of 8 in the league, which came two seasons ago.
With what seems to be an impenetrable defence at times, Chelsea do appear to have one weakness: high balls to the back post. Crouch could prove key in this regard.
Remember when…
The last time Stoke beat Chelsea in the league was by a one goal margin, as Marko Arnautovic acrobatically finished past Asmir Begovic ito compound Jose Mourinho's misery.
Player to watch…
Cesc Fabregas. The midfielder has been in fine form with seven assists and two goals this season.
Past three-meetings….
Chelsea 4 (Cahill, Willian 2, Costa) Stoke 2 (Martins Indi, Crouch), Premier League, December 2016
Chelsea 1 (Traore) Stoke 1 (Diouf), Premier League, December 2016
Stoke 1 (Arnautovic) Chelsea 0, Premier League, November 2016

SECOND HALF KICK-OFF: There are no changes on either side as the match restarts on the south coast. That means Leroy Fer continues in the unnatural role of right-back with Gylfi Sigurdsson out on the left flank. Can Swansea's square pegs in round holes find their way back into the game over the next 45 minutes?
52 mins: "Swansea have got themselves in a real mess here." Ian Darke's words could have been uttered at any point in the past half hour of playing time, but for now they describe the moment the ball was given away in midfield allowing Bournemouth to break. Dan Gosling was the player to take advantage of this latest piece of sloppiness, but the midfielder's drive from distance was pushed out by Fabianski.
56 mins: Paul Clement attempts to freshen things up with the introduction of Luciano Narsingh, the £4m January signing from PSV Eindhoven. The Dutch winger is on in place of Jordan Ayew.
58 mins: Even Fabianski is getting in on the carelessness. Deciding to move a backpass short rather than clearing his lines, the goalkeeper misplaced his pass straight to Fraser. The goalkeeper then went some way to making amends by diving low to save the Scot's follow up short.
60 mins: The visitors just can't keep hold of the ball at the moment. In fairness, the home side aren't faring much better because if they were this contest would surely be done by now. It calls for a lazy cliche - the next goal here is vital.
65 mins: A short spell of Swansea pressure starts with Sigurdsson planting a free-kick into the Bournemouth wall and ends with Afobe flicking a Ki shot behind for a corner that comes to nothing.
67 mins: Better from Swansea. After Narsingh wins a corner on the right, the visitors keep the ball alive with lofted cross towards Llorente at the far post. The home side clear their lines for now, but the Spanish striker is suddenly making an impression for the first time this evening.
72 mins: GOAL! BOURNEMOUTH 2 SWANSEA 0:
A second for Bournemouth, and there's no taking this one off Benik Afobe! With Swansea committing more men forward, there was space for the home side to counter. Josh King took responsibility forward and playing in his teammate. Taking advantage of Alfie Mawson's slip, Afobe moved the ball on to his right foot and beat Lukasz Fabianski with a low shot that found the net via the inside of the far post.
