Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Fulham 0-0 Cardiff, 56 minutes

Cardiff are finally getting going in the second half.

A vital boot in from Tim Ream denies Oumar Niasse the chance to give his side the lead.

GOAL! Southampton 3-2 Bournemouth (Matt Targett, 67 minutes)

A brilliant header from Matt Targett!

The half-time substitute thunders on to a cross, wing-back to wing-back, at the far post and powers the ball inside the post.

A great cross from Yan Valery, too.

Team News - Brighton vs Newcastle

The team news is in from the day's late fixture at the Amex:

Harry Latham-Coyle27 April 2019 16:34

GOAL! Watford 1-2 Wolves (Diogo Jota, 77 minutes)

Wolves are back ahead!

An assist earlier, a goal now - what a season Diogo Jota is having!

He beats Ben Foster to the ball from a looping cross and puts Wolves back in the ascendancy in the race for seventh.

Only Arsenal have won at Vicarage Road since the turn of the year...

Harry Latham-Coyle27 April 2019 16:34

A brilliant leap from Matt Targett, Southampton back ahead in a topsy-turvy game at St Mary's.

Harry Latham-Coyle27 April 2019 16:38

GOAL! Fulham 1-0 Cardiff (Ryan Babel, 79 minutes)

A huge goal in the relegation battle!

Ryan Babel has proved excellent business for Fulham, despite their predicament, and he's got another goal.

He's been the best on the pitch at Craven Cottage today and produces a lovely goal from 25 yards here. Cardiff simply hasn't offered enough.

Brighton will just be starting their warm-up at the Amex...

Harry Latham-Coyle27 April 2019 16:43

Fulham 1-0 Cardiff, 81 minutes

However Cardiff almost reply instantly, Sergio Rico forced into a brilliant save.

Harry Latham-Coyle27 April 2019 16:45

GOAL! Southampton 3-3 Bournemouth (Callum Wilson, 86 minutes)

A sixth at St Mary's, and it is Callum Wilson again!

Such attacking riches in this side.

Ryan Fraser tees up his striker with a low cross, and Wilson again makes no mistake with another relatively simple finish, rather bumbling the ball over the line in the end.

Will there be yet more goals?

Harry Latham-Coyle27 April 2019 16:45

Crystal Palace 0-0 Everton, 90 minutes

Nearly a late winner at Selhurst Park, Lucas Digne's cross taking a deflection and slicing into the woodwork.
