From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

There are huge games at the top and bottom of the Premier League table today, as Crystal Palace host Newcastle before top-four chasing Tottenham travel to Liverpool.

Andros Townsend will come up against his former team in the early kick-off, as Palace look to get back to winning ways against relegation rivals Newcastle. Both sides could move up to 11th with a win, but the losers will be left looking nervously over their shoulders at the bottom three.

And then the big one: Liverpool vs Tottenham. Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping his men can build on their incredibly impressive 2-0 victory over Manchester United earlier in the week. Meanwhile Liverpool are out for revenge – they lost the reverse fixture at Wembley 4-1. A win will keep the Reds in third and cut United’s lead in second to just three points.

Everyone caught their breath yet? What a game, that has to be one of the Premier League all time great games.

Liverpool 2-2 Tottenham

Mohamed Salah opened the scoring in the third minute when Eric Dier accidentally played him through on goal. Liverpool had the game under control but an unlikely candidate scored the Spurs' first equalser: step forward Victor Wanyama. Liverpool cleared the ball from their bow then the Kenyan midfielder riffled the ball into the top corner with unthinkable power.

Spurs had the chance to win it when Harry Kane was fouled by Loris Karius but the England forward hit a nervous effort straight at the goalkeeper.

Jurgen Klopp may have thought his side had won it when Salah scored in the 91st minute after dancing through two Spurs tackles after cutting inside from the right wing before slamming it into the top of the net. Spurs did not give up and won a penalty in the 95th minute when Virgil Van Dijk tripped Erik Lamela while trying to clear the ball. Kane stepped up again but this time coolly slotted the ball to the right and joined the Premier League 100 club.

Liverpool 2-2 Tottenham

'He wanted to be middle of interest and he is'

Jurgen Klopp speaking to Sky Sports about the late penalty decisions: "Did you ever hear? I am not allowed to go in their room until half an hour after. It was clear offside, unbelievable, I don't know what they were discussing.

"Yes, Virgil van Dijk touches him, but we all know Lamela wants the touch and we all know they were so hard fouls in the first half and we didn't get any fouls. He wanted to be middle of interest and he is."
