From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Swansea 0 Liverpool 0: Oh what a chance! Swansea should be ahead - record signing Borja Baston heads over unmarked from six yards out. Great cross in from the right from Routledge.
GOAL! Swansea 1 Liverpool 0 - Leroy FerSwansea do score now! Boston makes amends, he drops deep at the far post at a corner and heads the ball back across the face of the goal for Fer to tap in at close range.
Swansea 1 Liverpool 0: Yellow card for Jordan Henderson who drags down Jack Cork. Then Swansea should score again! Again it's Baston who heads wide this time when unmarked from close range - great delivery into the box from Sigurdsson from a free kick. Swansea should be two up.
6 - Daniel Sturridge has had a hand in six goals in his six previous PL apperances against Swansea (4 goals, 2 assists). Primed.

Swansea 1 Liverpool 0: Good stop from Fabianski from a long range effort by Firmino. Liverpool come a little closer after that though as Mane squeezes the ball under the keeper but it doesn't have enough to reach the goal and is cleared. Swansea break up the other end and come close themselves, but can't get the killer final touch.
