Good afternoon and welcome to The Independent's Premier League live blog, kicking off with Newcastle vs Tottenham at St James Park.
We'll bring you all the goals and reaction as the opening weekend of the Premier League continues following Manchester United's victory over Leicester last night.
First up here's the team news for game one of the day: Newcastle United vs Tottenham Hotspur. New season means new graphics...Newcastle taking an early lead on social here
A closer look at that team news then, and newcomer Martin Dubravka starts in goal for Newcastle, with fellow new signing Kenedy straight into the starting XI. Joselu leads the line, with Salomon Rondon on the bench.
No such new signings to worry about for Tottenham (sorry Spurs fans), but they do have Hugo Lloris back in goal, fresh from lifting the World Cup with France
Here's a piece from John Wardle on the most recent activity at St James Park following a turbulent transfer window...
9 mins: GOAL! Newcastle 0-1 Tottenham (Jan Vertonghen)
Tottenham have been threatening early on, and it's the visitors that get the early break through in the form of Jan Vertonghen. Christian Eriksen puts in a beautifully flighted corner, it's flicked on by Davinson Sanchez, and Vertonghen gets the header in at the far post.
11 mins: GOAL! Newcastle 1-1 Tottenham (Joselu)
It's all kicked off in the early kick off! Two goals in two minutes as Newcastle get straight back into this one. Joselu who at times struggled last season was favoured ahead of loan signing Salomon Rondon and he repays his manager losing his marker and heading in past Lloris. Game on.
18 mins: GOAL! Newcastle 1-2 Tottenham (Dele)
Anyone for a goal rush? Dele gets in on the act now, as Tottenham retake the lead, with the THIRD headed goal of the game! Serge Aurier provides the assist for this one, and you feel as though both sets of defenders need a breather as they fail to defend from aerial threats. Not a bad start to the new Premier League season?
23 mins: Not sure about this Spurs kit, but so far, so good as they have the lead in this one. We've had a slight breather after the early action, and goalscorer Joselu looks to be struggling, but is trying to run his niggle off. A reminder Rondon on the bench for Newcastle
