Manchester United come into their game on Sunday looking to just serve a small reminder to Manchester City that their domestic title is not quite wrapped up yet, with the Red Devils able to close the gap to eight points if they pick up a home win against Burnley.

The Clarets have been in fairly wretched form, winning just one of their last eight league games, and are still not entirely safe from the threat of relegation - though there are still six points between themselves and Fulham, one place below them and just inside the drop zone.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have won four in a row in the Premier League, the best current run in the top flight, and they might just sense that a little pressure put on their rivals at the top could yet keep the end of the season interesting given that Pep Guardiola’s side have lost two of their last three in all competitions and still have the Champions League to focus on.

Realistically, though, this is all about United securing a top-two spot for the first time in three years, while Burnley simply need to scrape together more points to ensure safety for another season.

Man United are heavily involved and there could even be an announcement this evening, according to the latest from Miguel Delaney regarding a European Super League breakaway.

RASHFORD ON MANAGING HIS FOOT INJURY

“I’m just taking it game by game. It’s inconsistent the way it recovers but we have to deal with it as best as we can. I’m just doing what I can to get out there.”

20 MINS TO KO

Earlier in the season United won 1-0 at Turf Moor, Paul Pogba netting what was a bit of a comeback goal for him personally after a long string of injury absences.

The French midfielder has been one of United’s in-form players of late and will be one to watch today.

BURNLEY CONCERNS

Worth noting that at the start of this week, Burnley were 15th, not particularly concerned with relegation worries.

But a draw for Brighton on Monday night and a win for Newcastle yesterday has changed all that: the Clarets are now 17th and, almost even worse, Fulham were beating Arsenal by a goal to nil - until a 97th-minute equaliser.

The gap between Burnley and the Cottagers in the relegation zone is now just six points - though Dyche’s side have played two fewer. This upcoming game is the first of those, of course.

BURNLEY CHANGES

For the Clarets it looks a more conservative approach, just the one striker for Sean Dyche and a change at left-back.
