From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Manchester City travel to Cardiff City, where they were winners in a feisty FA Cup contest last season, and Liverpool host Southampton.

Crystal Palace vs Newcastle
Half time at Selhurst, Ed Malyon reports:
"HT: 0-0 but Palace the better side. Newcastle haven't attempted a dribble, have made just two key passes and have been outshot 10-3. Big issue for hosts is making most of their opportunities without a natural centre-forward playing."
Manchester United vs Wolves
Mark Critchley gives his verdict on the action at Old Trafford:
"United enter the break 1-0 up, having recovered from an unconvincing start and composed themselves. Wolves have struggled to regain their early momentum, which was lost as soon as Paul Pogba's majestic touch set up Fred's opener. Still, the visitors have shown more than enough to suggest that this remains in the balance."
Here are the half time scores from the six Premier League games in action:

Cardiff 0 - 3 Man City

End to end stuff at the King Power Stadium, don't expect this deadlock to last much longer, more goals are surely to come.
Cardiff vs Manchester City
Cardiff 0 - 3 Man City
Injury at Cardiff, Lee Peltier looks to have done some damage to his shoulder in a tussle with Leroy Sane, he goes off the pitch looking in some discomfort
Manchester United vs Wolves
Man U 1 - 1 Wolves
GOAL! for Moutinho, Wolves have the equaliser, it's been coming all game, Moutinho steers the ball with a little bit of curl into the top corner to sink the hearts of the Manchester United fans
Manchester United vs Wolves
Mark Critchley gives us his thoughts on that Wolves equaliser:
"Questions over Luke Shaw, who failed to cut out Helder Costa's cross despite driving him all the way to the byline. Costa still did well to find Raul Jimenez, in fairness, and Jimenez makes the right decision by cutting back for Joao Moutinho rather than taking on the chance himself. On the balance of play, 1-1 is a fair scoreline."
