Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Follow live updates as Manchester United host Watford at Old Trafford in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first match as permanent manger.

Solskjaer was giving the full-time job over the international break after his impressive list of results since taking caretaker control in December.

United can regain their place in the top four at the expense of Arsenal with a win, while Watford are aiming to regain the initiative in their battle with Wolves to be the best of the rest. Follow it live:

Crystal Palace 0-0 Huddersfield, 64 minutes

Wilfried Zaha is alive!

He's had a torrid afternoon, much quieter than one would expect for a player of his ability, but he single-handedly sparks something here, beating three Huddersfield players and setting up Andros Townsend level with the penalty spot.

Townsend drags his effort wide. Should have done better...

Crystal Palace 0-0 Huddersfield, 71 minutes

Ben Hamer is doing his level-best to keep his side in the Premier League for the time being at least.

GOAL! Crystal Palace 1-0 Huddersfield (Luka Milivojevic penalty, 76 minutes)

He sends Ben Hamer the wrong way and puts Huddersfield on the brink of the drop!

GOAL! Manchester United 2-0 Watford (Anthony Martial, 72 minutes)

A suspicion of offside, but Anthony Martial finishes at the second attempt and Manchester United double their lead.

It is a bit of a scrappy build up, a couple of fortuitous ricochets eventually taking the ball to Jesse Lingard via Andreas Pereira, with Lindard's cross finding Martial.

The Frenchman looks to be a smidge offside, but after Ben Foster blocks his initial effort he shows composure to improvise a scooped finish.
