From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

In four previous Premier League visits to Old Trafford, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino had never seen his team score.

He has now — three times.

Tottenham humiliated Manchester United 3-0 on Monday to stay perfect after three rounds and increase the pressure on Pochettino's beleaguered counterpart, Jose Mourinho.

Harry Kane and Lucas Moura struck twice in a three-minute span early in the second half. Moura grabbed a second with six minutes left.

Jose Mourinho: The United manager is currently in his third season with the club, and after recent media speculation around the interest in ex Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, is under pressure to deliver results. The board have recently shut down these speculations and gave the Portuguese manager their full backing after the 3-2 loss to Brighton.

Remember when…

Perhaps the most memorable encounter between these two English heavyweights came in 2001 when one of the best comebacks in Premier League history occurred after Spurs managed to let go of a three-goal advantage at half-time, losing 5-3 to United at White Hart Lane. David Beckham was among the United scorers.

Past three-meetings…

Spurs 2 (Eriksen, Jones OG) Manchester United 0, Premier League, January 2018

Manchester United 1 (Martial) Spurs 0, Premier League, October 2017

Spurs 2 (Wanyama, Kane) Manchester United 1 (Rooney), Premier League, May 2017

Just under an hour away from Manchester United taking on Tottenham at Old Trafford, here's how the home side lines up tonight:

Lots of changes from the Man Utd side that faced Brighton last week, tonight they face a strong and confident starting XI for Spurs

Michael Jones27 August 2018 19:05

According to the stats it isn't looking promising for Tottenham's prospects at Old Trafford tonight:

Spurs have lost four consecutive league matches away at United without scoring and

Pochettino has lost 11 competitive fixtures against Jose Mourinho, more than against any other manager.

Could we be in for a repeat performance or will Tottenham deny the odds and continue their winning start to the season?

Michael Jones27 August 2018 19:19

Harry Kane has only scored once against Manchester United and only once in August, which was against Fulham last Saturday, what does he have in store for us tonight?

An interesting take on the role of Matic in this Manchester United team, Miguel Delaney knew last month that he was a potential CB for Jose Mourinho

5 minutes until kick off, who've you got?

Michael Jones27 August 2018 19:55

KICK OFF: Man Utd 0 - 0 Tottenham

United start the match and Fred gets an early chance, the ball comes over the top to Jesse Lingard who heads it into the path of Fred and his shot flies just past the right hand post
