From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Manchester United and Arsenal played out a rip-roaring draw as Jose Mourinho's men twice responded to freakish goals and secured a share of the spoils against Unai Emery's side.

Neither Sir Alex Ferguson or Arsene Wenger were involved in the fixture for the first time since 1986, but the former was in the stands for an encounter as entertaining as some of the memorable clashes during their Premier League duopoly.

Anthony Martial levelled shortly after David De Gea's uncharacteristic mistake saw Shkodran Mustafi open the scoring in the first half at Old Trafford, where Jesse Lingard secured a 2-2 draw just 75 seconds after substitute Alexandre Lacazette squeezed Arsenal back into the lead.

It was a frantic, and at times feisty, encounter at Old Trafford, which saw Emery's Arsenal rack up a 20th unbeaten game in all competitions as another winless league match leaves United off the pace in the top-four hunt.

Re-live the action below:

GOAL! Manchester United 0-1 Arsenal (Shkodran Mustafi, 26 minutes)

Is it in? It is!

An error from David De Gea!

Shkodran Mustafi meets a corner, heading the ball down into the turf some distance from goal.

It is not particularly powerful but the amplitude of the bounce seems to befuddle De Gea, who parries it up over his head into the air.

It loops beneath the crossbar where Ander Herrera (stationed on the post) seems to have hooked clear, but a glance at his watch from referee Andre Marriner reveals the ball did indeed cross the line.

1-0 Arsenal.

GOAL! Fulham 1-0 Leicester (Aboubakar Kamara, 42 minutes)

Claudio Ranieri's Fulham lead against Leicester!

Aboubakar Kamara somehow manages to squeeze the ball past Kasper Schmeichel from a rather acute angle.

GOAL! Manchester United 1-1 Arsenal (Anthony Martial, 30 minutes)

A swift response!

Marcus Ashford's free kick is well saved by Bernd Leno, who parries it away from goal well.

Ander Herrera, who was just in an offside position when the free kick was taken, retrieves it, cutting the ball back on the swivel from right on the byline.

Anthony Martial has found a pocket of space and finishes the chance. 1-1.

Burnley 0-0 Liverpool, 40 minutes

Burnley had the ball in the back of the net at Turf Moor, but it is ruled out!

Ashley Barnes is the unfortunate party. Offside the disallowing factor.

Half time in the four 7.45 kick offs.

Manchester United 1-1 Arsenal, 34 minutes

Rob Holding is really struggling with an injury, and it seems Stephan Lichtsteiner may be replacing him imminently.

Aaron Ramsey has a shot deflected wide.

HALF TIME SCORES (7.45pm Kick Offs)

Burnley 0-0 Liverpool

Everton 1-1 Newcastle

Fulham 1-0 Leicester

Wolves 0-1 Chelsea

Harry Latham-Coyle5 December 2018 20:36

Manchester United 1-1 Arsenal, 37 minutes

Oh dear. Rob Holding stretchered down the tunnel with the air cast on his leg.

Lichtsteiner does replace him on the right of the three man defence.

Shkodran Mustafi scythes through Marcus Rashford and earns a caution. Free kick in a dangerous area, down by the byline on the left hand side, for the hosts.

Manchester United 1-1 Arsenal, 38 minutes

It is played to the edge of the area to Marcos Rojo, who is completely unmarked, but he can't thread it through the sea of bodies to work Bernd Leno in the Arsenal goal.

Rojo goes sliding in on Matteo Guendouzi to try and recover the ball, incensing the Arsenal players who feel the challenge was high. Just a booking.

Manchester United 1-1 Arsenal, 41 minutes

Another booking!

Jesse Lingard trips Lucas Torreira breaking away from him.

It has all got a little tempestuous at Old Trafford.

And another! Hector Bellerin is slightly late in the tackle, steps on a boot and goes into Andre Marriner's book.

Four cautions in five minutes. Feisty.
