From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Rafa Benitez will most likely put his entire team behind the ball and look to stop Manchester City for as long as possible in hope of a fortuitous goal or clean sheet for Newcastle.
He did this last season and last week against Chelsea, where he was criticised for his negative style of play after Wolves drew with City after a bold attacking performance.
“Last season he did it against us away and at home,” said Pep Guardiola on Benitez’s tactics. “Everything he is going to do is because he believes it’s the best for them to get points.”

Prediction
Manchester City 3-0 Newcastle
City have enjoyed 81% possession over the last 5 minutes and are starting to wrestle complete control back in this game.
I imagine they'd like to put it to bed pretty soon.
70 mins:
More magic from David Silva playing one touch football with the rest of the City front line sees the ball fall to the feet of Sterling who's shot goes wide of the post.
Fabulous football on display, though.
72 mins: Rondon is replaced by Joselu.
Can they salvage something from this game?
76 mins: Game is still in City's hands but at 2-1 Newcastle know they still have some form of chance.
As we speak, City corner.
83 mins: City still passing it around the back and Newcastle have a good chance for a break but City defend well.
They break again...
85 mins: Slightly nervy moments for City at back there but they dealt with the minor threat Newcastle threw at them.
Still show a lot of bravery to keep the ball when put under pressure.
88 mins: HALF CHANCE!
Ricochet sees the ball at Joselu's feet but his shot gets a deflection on its way to Ederson who claims with no pressure.
THREE MINUTES OF STOPPAGE TIME.
Can Newcastle find an equaliser?
90+1 mins: CHANCE!
Sergio Aguero misses a great chance to wrap up the victory.
Fernandinho slots a wonderful ball through the middle of the Newcastle defence and the Argentine runs on to it and tries to round the keeper but Dubravka makes it hard for him and gets the ball of him.
It still falls to Aguero once again who tries to dink the keeper off his line but he gets his angles all wrong and chips it well and truly wide of the goal.
Not fabulous.
