Manchester City welcome Antonio Conte's Chelsea to the Etihad Stadium in what should be one of the stand-out fixtures of the season so far.
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The two sides are separated by a single point, with the Blues sitting pretty at the top of the league on 31 points and City a single point behind on 30.
Victory will hand either side a massive boost in their title campaigns as the two continue to set the pace for the rest of the league.
Pep Guardiola's men have the opportunity to overtake their London rivals, but to do so would require breaking down Chelsea's seemingly impenetrable defence.
Conte's defence has conceded just one goal in their last seven games as the side continues to thrive under the coach's new formation.
But with the home advantage, City will know that today is their opportunity to strike and stake their claim for that top spot.

HALF TIME
It was a somewhat slow first half, but Arsenal enter the interval with a deserved one-goal advantage. The goal came from a defensive lapse and an unselfish assist from Sanchez to set Ozil up in front of goal. Arsenal should have put the game to bed by now, with numerous attempts in front of goal gone to waste. Bilic's men have failed to adapt to the rhythm of the bout and have been poor across all areas of the pitch. Arsenal have dominated, but they were wasteful and need to be more clinical in the second half.
It's far from over.
Fletcher has put in quite a shift so far today, so Bilic will be encouraging play to go through him during the second half. Nonetheless, he needs better service.

Ozil delivers a free kick into the box from a wide angle and it meets the head of Walcott, but it goes just over. It's a free header for the Englishman, but once again, Arsenal fail to convert.
Carroll spent the whole of half-time warming up on his own and it looks like he could be making his way onto the pitch very soon.
51 MINS
Masuaku leads a West Ham attack and it was certainly the most threatening they've looked so far this half. His quick feet invited the foul from the Arsenal midfielders.
Payet stands over the free kick.
54 MINS
West Ham have had a sudden injection of energy and determination, as another attack proves a problem for the visitors. Payet is put through on goal following a string of passes, but his ball into the box is blocked by Koscielny. It's a vast improvement from their first half, so far.
The home fans are on their feet and the momentum is starting to be in their favour.
57 MINS
The home side are taking full of advantage of a 10 man Arsenal squad, whilst Gabriel receives treatment on the side of the pitch. Arsenal really need to up their game as they are looking second best at the moment.
60 MINS
Sanchez takes Arsenals first chance in a while, but it's driven low and wide. It's no test for Randolph.
