From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

47 mins: Musa's first involvement is to run at Bailly who tackles him and wins the ball. Bailly then gets up and wins a second tackle with Mahrez. No faulting his bravery or enthusiasm.
51 mins: Leicester had been sharper in the second half with the two substitutes on and it took them six minutes to get level. Musa broke down the right and tried to pass to Vardy. Fellaini intercepted the ball but then underhit his backpass so it fell straight between Vardy and De Gea. Vardy was quicker running onto it, beat De Gea, took it wide and finished well.
54 mins: The Leicester fans are making a real noise after that. As Andy King brings down Lingard and is booked, this game suddenly has a more meaningful feel.
56 mins: Leicester look even better on the break than they were last year, thanks to Musa. He charges down the right then passes inside to Gray, whose shot from 20 yards out is an easy save for De Gea.
59 mins: This has been the best 14-minute subsitute appearance in a Community Shield I have ever seen. Ahmed Musa has changed the game. He wins another free-kick for Leicester with a run down the left. United don't know how to handle him.
60 mins: United make their first change. Ander Herrera comes on for Michael Carrick. An important move, I think. United had looked slow and predictable in the middle of the pitch. Carrick is class but Herrera gives them a bit more spark.
61 mins: Luis Hernandez and Nampalys Mendy, two new summer signings, come on for Andy King and Danny Simpson.
