From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Manchester City kept pace with Liverpool at the top of the Premier League as they breezed past Huddersfield Town on Sunday afternoon.

Goals from Danilo, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane proved far too much for the managerless Terriers, who remain 10 points from safety at the bottom of the league. City, meanwhile, move within four of the league leaders.

Here's how it played out:

Man City make four changes with Gabriel Jesus, John Stones, David Silva and Bernardo Silva missing out.

Caretaker boss Mark Hudson makes six changes from the draw with Cardiff as he tries to put his stamp on this struggling Huddersfield side.

With Liverpool's victory over Crystal Palace yesterday, Man City need a win today to close the gap at the top of the table.

Huddersfield are really struggling. They remain bottom of the Premier League and a win today will bring them level with Fulham on points but still seven points away from safety.

Sergio Aguero makes his return to Man City's side today. He has scored six goals in his last three games against Huddersfield, including a hat-trick in the reverse fixture in August.

The last time he didn't play Huddersfield held City to a 0-0 at the Etihad last May.

Huddersfield caretaker manager Mark Hudson: "It's been an emotional start to the week - there were a few goodbyes but since then there's been a real focus on the training field ahead of Sunday.

"We fully respect what David Wagner has done for Huddersfield Town, and he's done a lot for me too, as both a player and a coach.

"A Mark Hudson side will be full of intent and fight. Togetherness is something I really believe in."

Huddersfield 0 - 0 Man City

Huddersfield start the match but Man City win the ball. Mbenza makes a good interception and breaks against Man City's defence. He goes down but the referee waves play on.

Sergio Aguero creates a great play for the visitors. He plays a one-two with Fernandinho before giving it to Sterling and continuing his run into the box. Sterling splits the defence and finds Aguero but the striker is off balance and his shot hits the side netting.

Man City threaten Huddersfield's area, trying to find an opening but the home side win the ball and are able to break quickly down the right wing. Danilo at left back does well though and stops the attack dead by winning the ball.
