Everton host Liverpool in the Merseyside derby looking to snap a 22-game, 10-year winless streak against their local rivals.
They enter the game in fine form, too, four wins from four games and top of the Premier League with their rivals, as defending champions, three points off the pace having been humbled by Aston Villa in a heavy 7-2 defeat before the international break.
Carlo Ancelotti has inspired the Toffees with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and James Rodriguez shining so far this term, while Jurgen Klopp will also have the Champions League to consider and a trip to Amsterdam to take on Ajax just three days after this game. 90+4 mins: NO GOAL! Drama, such drama! Jordan Henderson’s goal is ruled out for offside by VAR. Sadio Mane the guilty man apparently. It’s so close though that the decision will be controversial.
Everton 2 - 3 Liverpool - Henderson
90+2 mins: GOAL! Henderson wins it for Liverpool! Thiago plays a blind pass through the lines to Mane who cuts it into the box. Henderson is there and he hits the shot. Pickford needs to do better, he gets a good hand to the ball but it bounces over him and into the net!
RED CARD!
90 mins: Richarlison is off for Everton. It’s an awful challenge from the striker on Thiago Silva. He dove in with his studs showing and could have done some serious damage.
Five minutes to be added on.
85 mins: Liverpool win a free kick to the on the left corner of the box. Alexander-Arnold takes it and goes for goal. The angles is quite narrow and he misses the target.
Everton 2 - 2 Liverpool - Calvert-Lewin
81 mins: GOAL! How high can he jump? James Rodriguez passes the ball down the left wing for Lucas Digne on the overlap. He floats a cross into the box, Calvert-Lewin jumps higher than Robertson and heads it home. He’s scored in every league game this season.
80 mins: Alex Iwobi is on for Abdoulaye Doucoure for Everton. Diogo Jota replaces Roberto Firmino for Liverpool.
Mo Salah hits another one, this from outside the box and Pickford denies him again. Everton are scrambling now.
78 mins: Jordan Pickford to the rescue again. Liverpool win a corner and Joel Matip wins the header as it comes swinging into the box. Pickford dives to his right and palms the ball away with a strong right hand.
