Everton hit two late goals to beat Crystal Palace at Goodison Park.

The Toffees endured a frustrating afternoon and had Jordan Pickford to thank for saving Luka Milivojević’s second-half penalty.

Substitutes Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Cenk Tosun then scored late goals to seal all three points. Relive the match below.

It’s a big game for…

Patrick van Aanholt: The Dutchman delivered a poor performance against Wolves, giving the ball away cheaply at times and he was beaten far too easily by Matt Doherty’s movement for the goal. With the likes of Theo Walcott, Bernard and Richarlison providing both pace and excellent movement up front, Roy Hodgson will hope his limited exertions with the Netherlands have given him sufficient time to come back refreshed.

Best stat…

7: Gylfi Sigurdsson has contributed to seven goals in his last six Premier League starts against Crystal Palace. The 29-year-old Icelandic midfielder has scored three goals and registered four assists in that time against the London club.

Player to watch…

Bernard: The Brazilian has had to bide his time at Goodison Park, making just one substitute appearance in his first month on Merseyside. However, the former Shakhtar Donetsk winger was superb against Leicester, setting up Richarlison for Everton’s opener after jinking past two defenders, while showing similar skill on various other occasions. Bernard did not shy away from his defensive duties either, and those are ominous signs for Palace as the summer signing’s confidence increases.

All of a sudden this game has come to life. Townsend takes on an ambitious effort that's saved by Pickford. Everton then break away with Bernard flying down the left-wing. He fails to get a cross in and the attack comes to nothing.

Moments before that there were big appeals from Everton for a penalty after Richarlison was being held inside the box. Replays show they had a case. Palace are lucky to get away with that.

What an opportunity it was for Milivojevic from the spot. The penalty was awarded after Zaha went down with Coleman making a challenge on the left hand side of the penalty area. It didn't look like a penalty at first sight and there were no real appeals from Palace, but replays show it was the right decision. Pickford keeps Everton in it. It's been some week for the goalkeeper.

First substitution for the home side as Bernard makes way for Cenk Tosun.

That change has seen Richarlison moved out to his usual role on the left side, with Tosun going straight up front.

Patrick Van Aanholt drives forward for Palace. The ball is played wide to Schlupp, who's cross is easily dealt with by Pickford.

Corner to Everton after the ball deflects off Wan-Bissaka. Keane rises but is unable to get enough on the header. We're still goalless.

Things have got a bit scrappy again. It's Zaha who's trying to create something for Palace but he's met by challenge after challenge, making it almost impossible for him to advance.

Corner for Palace after Zouma clears a through ball that Townsend was looking to get on the end of inside the Everton box.

The corner comes to nothing. At the other end, Andre Gomes sees his left-footed effort go wide. It was good footwork from the Portugal midfielder to engineer the chance.
