From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Tottenham Hotspur travel to Selhurst Park in Sunday’s early Premier League kick-off needing to win to keep their top four hopes alive.

Spurs currently sit fifth but can temporarily leapfrog Chelsea with a win, ahead of their match with Manchester United. But Spurs will need to win without their first-choice defensive partnership of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld. In their absence, Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier line up together in the heart of a four-man defence.

Crystal Palace have injuries of their own to worry about, leading to Roy Hodgson giving 20-year-old Aaron Wan-Bissaka a start. Jaïro Riedewald is also named in their starting XI.

Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

For all of Tottenham's early possession, it's been a fairly even start at Selhurst Park. Palace are looking lively at the back but defensive insecurities are creeping in which is allowing Spurs to test Wayne Hennessey.

Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

29: Penalty....no it's not. James McArthur concedes possession to Dele Alli on the edge of the box and his touch falls to Harry Kane who comes back from an offside position and is then fouled by Timothy Fosu-Mensah. Kevin Friend points to the spot then notices his assistant's flag.

Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

41: Not a huge deal going on here at Selhurst Park as we wind down to half time.

Jack Watson25 February 2018 12:43

Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

42: FOUL THROW! It's remarkable in the top-flight to see these given but Serge Aurier has been fund guilty of an offence which will infuriate even a Sunday League player.

Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

44: Andros Townsend catches Tottenham short at the back but cuts inside and shoots with a tame effort. Christian Benteke and Alex Sorloth were waitting in the box, that might have been the better option.
