From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

After over an hour of trying, Liverpool finally hit back against Chelsea to maintain their unbeaten start to the Premier League. Eden Hazard struck in the first half to ensure Maurizio Sarri's side came out on top after an intense opening period, but Daniel Strurridge's wonderful late goal means the points are shared.

The home side had defended well and David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger were on hand to clear off the line to prevent Liverpool scoring an earlier equaliser. Xheradan Shaqiri also went close with an effort going wide from close range and Alisson was called on several times to keep Chelsea's early lead to just one goal.

Preview

What time does it start?

Chelsea vs Liverpool kicks off at 5:30pm (BST) on Saturday 29 September.

Where can I watch it?

The match will be shown live on BT Sport 1 from 5:00pm (BST).

BT Sport subscribers can also watch online via the BT Sport app.

Highlights will be shown at 10:30pm on BBC One.

It’s a big game for…

Mohamed Salah. The Liverpool winger has not quite found the miraculous form of last season as of yet, and will go to Stamford Bridge with a chip on his shoulder against his former club. Salah, who was unable to make an impact in the midweek defeat as a late substitute, was barely given a chance during his time at Chelsea from 2014 to 2016, and will want to silence the home fans with an eye-catching performance.

Best stat…

Three: Chelsea have only won three of their last 11 home games against Liverpool in the Premier League. Liverpool have won five.

Player to watch…

Eden Hazard: The Belgium captain is thriving under Sarri at the moment, and is the joint top scorer in the Premier League currently with five goals from six matches. The 27-year-old will be itching to attack Liverpool’s defence, after his wonderful solo goal in the last few minutes won the Carabao Cup tie on Wednesday. He’ll need to beat a different goalkeeper this time though, with Allison likely to come back into the starting XI after Simon Mignolet started in midweek.

Past three meetings…

Liverpool 1 (Sturridge) Chelsea 2 (Emerson, Hazard), Carabao Cup, September 2018

Chelsea 1 (Giroud) Liverpool 0, Premier League, May 2018

Liverpool 1 (Salah) Chelsea 1 (Willian), Premier League, November 2017

Second half

Neither manager wants to change things at half time and West Ham gets things back underway at the London Stadium.

Mourinho needs more

"Mourinho needs more from his players, more effort and intensity," says former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves on BT Sport. It's worth mentioning that they did not have a shot on target in the first half.

48: Arnautovic finds Noble with a clever back-heel and the West Ham skipper tries a speculative effort from range. It trickles wide, but it is already ole time for the Hammers.

50: Young tries a training ground routine from a corner but a low ball to the edge of the box is intercepted and West Ham break. The ball is worked to Arnautovic, who fires a half-volley into the back of the stand.

"Attack, attack, attack" rings out from the crowd, seems to be a combination of ironic West Ham fans and disgruntled United supporters.

What a tackle

55: Pogba loses possession in a dangerous area and West Ham find Arnautovic in the middle. He turns away from Smalling, but the United defender recovers well with a great tackle.

Here we go

Marcus Rashford comes on for Victor Lindelof as Manchester United look to switch things up, the three at the back experiment is well and truly over.

It appears that McTominay has gone into midfield, with Pogba number ten and Martial and Rashford providing the width.

Was Mourinho forced to take Lindelof off, or was it tactical?

62: United looking a little better here after that change, who would have thought. For all the improvement in movement and purpose, there is still no final product at the end of moves. No crisp pass or decent finish, it's all very worrying.

Jack Watson29 September 2018 13:49

64: Arnautovic is down and receives treatment after challenging for the ball with Smalling. After a short check he's back.

Jack Watson29 September 2018 13:51

65: What a save from Fabianski!

Young's cross is met by Fellaini, who powers a header low and to the goalkeepers right. Fabianski's whole body is in the goal and he just gets a hand to the ball and pushes it around the post. Goal line technology proves that it did not cross the line, but it was certainly very close. West Ham on the ropes.
