From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Leicester City travel to Cardiff City in the first game since the tragic helicopter accident that killed owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and four others last weekend.
The Foxes, who drew 1-1 with West Ham prior to the tragedy, postponed their midweek League Cup tie with Southampton but will be looking for a first win since late September in the Welsh capital in honour of their late Thai owner.
Cardiff were well beaten by Liverpool last weekend after their win over Fulham the week previous, but they will be looking to get points on the board with fixtures against Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City all out of the way.

Player to watch
Ben Chilwell: The left-back continues to churn out performance after performance and he was once again the bright spark against West Ham. The Foxes struggled to get on the front foot for large parts of the game but the England international always seemed the most likely outlet for Leicester to get them going forward. He will be looking to cause more problems to a shaky Cardiff defence at the weekend.
