Sol Bamba's late strike hands Cardiff crucial win over 10-man Brighton

Cardiff City's Sol Bamba netted a dramatic late goal after a goalmouth scramble as they snatched a 2-1 win over 10-man Brighton & Hove Albion to move out of the Premier League relegation zone on Saturday.

With seconds left Bamba's overhead kick come back off the post and the rebound fell to Callum Paterson whose effort cannoned off the bar. But Bamba made no mistake third time round when he fired the ball into the roof of the net.

It completed a day to remember for Neil Warnock, who was celebrating 100 games in charge of Cardiff, as the Welsh club recorded their second top-flight victory of the season after Brighton's Dale Stephens was sent off in the first half.

That was ambitious from Izquierdo. Etheridge's punch from a cross falls to the Colombian around 30 yards out, and on the volley he tries to beat the Philippine goalkeeper, but he smashes it high and wide.

Neil Warnock's final throw of the dice sees Joe Ralls replaced by Bobby Reid.

Brighton have begun to look slightly more threatening on the counter, but nothing noteworthy yet as we approach the final 10 minutes.

Junior Hoilett has fired an effort over for the hosts but it does seem that the game is heading for a stalemate, with neither side managing to put consistent pressure on the other despite Cardiff's numerical advantage. 

Camarasa then tries his luck and Ryan grabs his effort at the second attempt with the hosts' forward line lurking.

It's pinball in there before the Ivorian gives the hosts what is surely their second win of the season.

Bamba starts it all off with an overhead kick which hits the post, before the ball comes to Hoilett on the rebound. The Canadian somehow fails to convert, and then Paterson's effort is blocked before Bamba powers home from a few yards.

That's a massive win for Neil Warnock in his 100th game in charge. His team did it the hard way, coming from behind to beat Chris Hughton's side.

Lewis Dunk had put the visitors ahead, but goals from Calum Paterson and a last-minute winner from Sol Bamba secured the points for Cardiff, as they add Brighton to Fulham as the teams they have beaten this season.
