Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Chelsea travel to Brighton looking for their first win of 2018 having drawn their last five games.

Their hosts have won just once since the turn of the year and will be desperate for a result today as they attempt to put distance between themselves and the bottom three.

The visitors are without forwards Alvaro Morata and Pedro through suspension, while Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas have been sidelined with hamstring injuries. Brighton will have to make do without Steve Sidwell who has fractured his ankle while recovering from back injury.

What time does it start?

The game kicks off at 12:30 on Saturday20 January at the Amex Stadium.

Where can I watch it?

The game is being broadcast on Sky Sports Premier League. Coverage starts at 11:30.

Everton 0-1 West Brom

James McCarthy has just been stretchered off with an awful-looking leg injury after a collision with Salomon Rondon, who has been left in tears by the severity of the Everton midfielder's injury.

We wish him a speedy recovery.
