Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Burnley continued their good recent run with a comfortable win at Brighton.

Chris Wood scored twice before Ashley Barnes wrapped up all three points from the spot as the Clarets moved out of the bottom three.

Here's how it played out:

10 min: Crystal Palace 0-0 West Ham

Good start from both sides here, and there has already been a penalty appeal against Ryan Fredericks waved away by the ref.

13 min: Huddersfield 0-0 Arsenal

Couple of half chances for the Gunners, with Alex Iwobi slamming the ball into the side netting from Maitland-Niles' pass, before a terrific Terence Kongolo tackle denies Alexandre Lacazette.

13 min: Liverpool 0-0 Bournemouth

First sight of goal for Mo Salah, but the Egyptian smashes high and wide of the far post, before forcing a comfortable save from Boruc from distance.

GOAL! Huddersfield 0-1 Arsenal (Iwobi 16')

The Nigerian probably does not mean to hit his effort like he does, but the deflection does him wonders with his volley from Kolasinac's cross beating Ben Hamer the Huddersfield keeper, and Arsenal lead at Huddersfield.

18 min: Liverpool 0-0 Bournemouth

Liverpool have had 73% possession in the opening fifteen minutes, but with no goals so far the crowd are starting to get a little restless.

19 min: Southampton 0-0 Cardiff

First serious chance at St Mary's, where Nathan Redmond fires into the side netting with a low drilled shot.

20 min: Crystal Palace 0-0 West Ham

Three huge chances for West Ham, the latest of which falls to Hernandez, but none of them can beat Vicente Guaita in the Palace goal when one-on-one.

His importance under Emery has risen incredibly.

GOAL! Liverpool 1-0 Bournemouth (Mane 24')

That's four goals in four consecutive games for Mane in the Premier League, powering a header in from Milner's cross after losing his markers in the area.

He does appear to be offside though.

23 min: Watford 0-0 Everton

Kurt Zouma should do better, but can only flick a header from a free-kick into the arms of Foster.
