From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

GOAL - Giroud!
What a goal! That's stunning. A five-man break ends with Sanchez clipping a cross to Giroud and he BACKHEELS a fabulous volley in off the crossbar. For my money, that's even better than Mkhitaryan's goal for United against Sunderland.
21 mins: The Emirates seems to be collectively catching its breath after that Giroud goal - surely goal of the season.
26 mins: Allardyce's face, it must be said, was an absolute picture after that goal went in.
26 mins: Elneny shoots wide as Arsenal go looking for a second goal here.
31 mins: Arsenal are well on top. Elneny picks out Sanchez and he twists, turns and crosses but the flag goes up for offside against Monreal.
34 mins: Palace are so narrow it's allowing Bellerin and Monreal to so some real damage on the wings. Sanchez goes for goal but curls his shot wide.
