From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Just seconds from the end, Darwin Nunez produced one of those uproarious moments that you might usually say was a sign of where the title is going. The evidence of this season, however, suggests it’s going to need many more of them.

Perhaps the greatest significance of this 99th-minute 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest, beyond the vintage late header of such a classic run-in victory, was that Jurgen Klopp’s side kept persevering despite so many absences. They have kept this form going, and still have a number of stars to come back.

The return of a player who is definitely ascending to that kind of level for supporters was the crucial difference here.

WIDE! Dominguez sweeps it out to the right for Origi, and he brushes aside Robertson and Gomez as he cuts inside from the wing. He takes his shot from just outside the D, firing it towards the near post, but it flies just wide.

Konate and Dominguez only have eyes for the ball, and the former rises high to clear it but crashes into the Argentinian in the process. He stays down holding his face, but gets back up without needing treatment.

The hosts win a free-kick on the left, and Gibbs-White tries to be clever by curling it to the front of the crowd and into Yates' path. He's just caught on his heels slightly, and Kelleher rushes off his line to collect it.

Liverpool are looking to their left to make something happen in the opening stages here, and Robertson has acres of space. He curls a cross towards Gakpo's run at the far post, but it's just too high for the Dutchman.

Forest win an early corner here and Gibbs-White curls an inviting cross into the middle. It's cleared as far as Williams by Konate, but he can't pick out a team-mate when he heads it back into the box.
