Follow live coverage as Newcastle United face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League today.

Record signing Alexander Isak was handed a rare start as Newcastle attempted to revive their Premier League campaign against Wolves. The Sweden international was included as one of five changes to the team which lost 2-0 at Manchester City last weekend with he, Fabian Schar after concussion, Joe Willock, Jacob Murphy and Allan Saint-Maximin replacing Callum Wilson, Jamaal Lascelles, the suspended Joelinton, Anthony Gordon and Miguel Almiron.

Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui made four changes as Joao Moutinho, Adama Traore, Daniel Podence and Raul Jimenez came in for Pablo Sarabia, Matheus Nunes, Pedro Neto and the injured Diego Costa.

We will bring you all the action and updates from today's game in the live blog below:

Newcastle spent long periods of that half pinning Wolves back and bombarding their visitors with crosses. If Wolves are to recover and pick up a valuable result in their fight against the drop, they need to get on the front foot in the second half – Jimenez has looked isolated and Moutinho and Neves have been unable to pull the strings in the middle.

Andy Madley blows his whistle, and it's half-time on Tyneside. Newcastle's bid to end their five-game winless run is going smoothly so far, with Isak heading in Trippier's free-kick to give them the lead. The Magpies have pressed well and looked menacing from several set-piece situations, and they almost got a second when Guimaraes headed against the bar from a corner. However, Wolves believed they should have had a penalty for Pope's challenge on Jimenez, while Podence hit the post from long range. They may not be out of this game yet.

Wolves have had two shots to Newcastle's 13 so far. The Midlands club have struggled for goals all season, and they need to do much better in attack if they are to launch a comeback.
