The Magpies are flying high under Eddie Howe, fourth in the table and unbeaten since the end of August in this competition - though they did lose to Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup recently. Fulham, meanwhile, are into the top six after four wins on the spin, including a derby win over Chelsea last time out. Aleksandar Mitrovic returns from suspension today to face his former club.

Eddie Howe will be pleased with the way his side have largely controlled the ball and the chances but will want to see an improvement in the final pass or shot which has let his Newcastle side down so far. Fulham and Marco Silva have yet to register a shot on target but are still in this game. There have been moments of threat through Willian and Pereira but they will need more of those as well as increased service to Mitrovic if they are to get a goal in this second half.

It has been a half of few chances and the game is goalless as we reach half-time. Longstaff saw an early chance well blocked by Diop and Wilson created a couple of chances for himself that were well saved by Leno. Newcastle have threatened down the right with Longstaff, Almiron and Tripper but Fulham remain resolute in defence to leave it all square at the break.
