Champions League-chasing Newcastle host an in-form Fulham in the Premier League

The Magpies are flying high under Eddie Howe, fourth in the table and unbeaten since the end of August in this competition - though they did lose to Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup recently. Goalless draws with Leeds and Arsenal recently leave them slightly adrift of the Manchester clubs above them, but a top-four finish this term would represent huge progress.
Fulham, meanwhile, are into the top six after four wins on the spin, including a derby win over Chelsea last time out. Aleksandar Mitrovic returns from suspension today to face his former club.

Wilson makes a good run down the channel and receives the ball. Willock makes a darting run into the box to offer support but Ream is across to deflect the cross out for a corner which Fulham deal with.

Newcastle give the ball away cheaply in midfield and Pereira is able to deliver the cross. Mitrovic controls the ball but his effort is smothered well before Tete's effort rises well over the bar.

Pereira lofts in a free-kick after a foul on De Cordova-Reid but Burn rises high to head it clear for the home side.

Newcastle's fast start hasn't deterred Fulham from their passing ways but a poor pass from Leno to Ream almost gets Fulham in trouble. Almiron's tackle can't win back the ball fully, though, and it goes out for a goal kick.

GREAT BLOCK!! That is a fantastic challenge from Diop to deny Longstaff. Tripper finds Guimaraes and it is deft reverse pass to find Longstaff but Diop recovers extremely well to block the effort out for a corner.

The first effort of the game is fired wide by Willock. A long ball is cushioned down well by Joelinton to Willock but the Englishman's curling effort from outside the box is well wide of the left post.
