Newcastle United vs Crystal Palace
The first half ends with the hosts in total control, as Newcastle score three at the very start and end of the half to take a commanding lead into the second period. Murphy's amibitous chip into the far corner was initially denied, but VAR intervened to rule out the offside decision and put the Magpies 1-0 up after just four minutes. The game then hit a bit of a lull period as the two sides battled for consistent possession, but the steady pressure built by Newcastle would pay dividends by the end of the half. A sumptuous Murphy cross was diverted into the net by Gordon, and Longstaff also popped up in inury time to capitalise on a Palace mistake for 3-0. The visitors have shown very little at the other end, and their late collapse means it's a long, long way back for Palace in the next 45 minutes.
